@nethlem: No one is forcing me to use it, I just tink it's a dumb addition that's not needed.

@amyggen: So it's a "dumb addition", because you don't need it? Ain't that a bit selfish?

Like i explained before: The grey filter can be very hard on peoples eyes, up to a point where people will simply refuse to buy/play a game, because it might actually be unplayable for them with such filters in place.

The same applies with games that don't want to/can't get their FoV right or add useless shake/dept effects. Those can induce headaches and nausea with people that suffer from motion sickness, that's why a lot of people will evade those games like the plague.

Add to that the color blind people, who will simply refuse to buy certain games that are nearly unplayable without a color-blind mode and you've got quite a lot of people who might actually need those "dumb additions" to play and enjoy the game.

@saturdaynightspecials: That's why i asked you to elaborate on the specifics as to why you consider the character design "childish". So what exactly is wrong with the design?

Headphones are highly recommended. The soundscape is spine-chilling as fuck. Having to hear out the enemies and loot is pretty cool. I have used the wind to straight up run up behind dudes. I have not figured out the use for the Listen mechanic. And I'm not really using the weapons, just employing a standard "whack-to-the-back" approach like most stealth games.

Right now, I feel like a paranormal detective, figuring out the deaths and how to investigate :D

The wind is calming against the creepy and mysterious atmosphere.

No Caption Provided

Interesting that you say the wind is calming. Growing up in the midwest, the wind and exaggerated movement of the foliage gave me the feeling of extreme dread. The same feeling I get when a massive summer storm (potentially tornadic) rolls into the plains. All the animals go quiet, all you can hear is the low rumble of thunder over the windy white noise and you instinctually feel like you must take cover.

That was a really long winded way of saying they nailed the atmosphere.

Oh yeah, if I was in an actual forest-y place full of wind sounding like that, alone, I'd be freaking out. Alan Wake did that too with the pacific northwest, and is a place I would love to go. But in the context of the game, it's the only thing that doesn't put me on my nerves.

What cool nature stuff to check out is in the midwest? Educate this ignorant brit :D

The black and white does some how make this game scarier, but it's really hard on the eyes.

@saturdaynightspecials: So is it lame or is it childish or is it sexist? What is it now? What would you have her rather wear? Or should she be rather a dwarf with a beard and a red cape?

Life must be really horrible when every little detail is such a pain in the ass...

Yeah, knowing how to read can be a real burden sometimes.

"It's not even so much that it's sexist..."

SaturdayNightSpecials in a comment that was really not worth it

You still implied it was sexist with that phrase. Learning how to understand connotations can be a real burden sometimes.

I dig the black and white look. I don't mind if it was an afterthought. Some of the best concepts in games have been last minute additions/conceits.

On an unrelated note, the mix seems too low on a lot of your videos. I'm sitting here with Diablo 3 running and this video on the second monitor and even with the game at 10% volume with the music off, D3 still handily overpowers it.

How did Brad NOT see the big blinking pile on the ground when he was smashing the ash/omber corpses?

I really like this game so far (after 3hours) but I have to play with colors. The black&white stuff sure looks cool but it hurts my eyes. The only thing missing in the game is voice acting other than that it's pretty cool

I didn't see any other blinking pile there than the one they tried to dig up about four times but getting a message that the soil was too hard each time?

WHAT?

(Seriously though, this game looks kind of amazing and it's cool that indie developers can make games look this good now.)

Man! I was eating a huge peanut butter cookie during the last bit when Vinny was all "put some arrows in him" and the sound effect went off and I sprayed cookie crumbs all over myself.
