Who voices C.M. Porter?  The voice sounds so familiar, but Google only tells me that it is Alan Rickman, which it is NOT.

edit: Ah, it's Carl Lumbly, aka "that guy!", aka Martian Manhunter.

I'm surprised so many people on GB know of "Hot Scoops". Idle Thumbs oh how I miss you.

I kept thinking the same thing Jeff was. "Don't hack that person." If there's one movie tagline I would use to describe Brad's playing of this quick look, it would be "Edge of your seat."

I love how Brad walks right by the a plasmid all shiny and making its trademark noise and then immediately mentions after that there is a new plasmid and they probably won't find it.

" Having played to the end of the first Bioshock and never playing Bioshock 2, I think this DLC pack looks awesome.  Very reminiscent of the first game.    You almost can't tell it's another dev house, which almost never happens when a sequel is handed off to another team. "

My thoughts precisely. All the footage & trailers I saw for Bioshock 2 irked me something fierce, but this dlc is making me want for more Bioshock. If only it had a wrench though.

Edit: On second thought, that combat looks really unappealing.

Well after playing through the forgettable Bioshock 2 storyline I do not care for this.

@nrain: I agree, he seems to be the worst player of the Giant Bomb Gang by a long shot.

Honestly, I can say with confidence and without hyperbole that this is one of the greatest pieces of DLC that I've ever played for any game. Ever.

Great story, great pacing, quality gameplay and a supremely satisfying ending. Makes me sad that 2K Marin isn't planning on anymore single-player DLC. They hit it out of the park with this one.

Thoroughly enjoyed this DLC.  I need to go back and play it again.  Great ending.

As for the Quick Look:

  1. Sucks that the QL ended literally right before the area where you get Gravity Well.
  2. Given that Brad hasn't played Bioshock 2, I don't expect him to know that you can pick the spears back up after you kill someone with them to reuse...but you can totally do that.
  3. The mathematical equations that are scrawled everywhere are actually a massive spoiler right at the beginning of the game...if you know quadratic equations, that is.  There's a reason why Delta, the letter P, and many other pieces of symbolism are used in there.

Maybe if the Steam setup were a little less difficult for them to work with, the PC customers would get more love.  Unfortunately, that's not the case.  Really sucks, because the PC version could've been excellent.

That's got nothing to do with it, its the fact that 2K had to use Games for Windows Live on top of Steam due to  contractual obligations with Microsoft.

C.M. Porter sounds like the DARPA Chief from MGS to me.  Anyone else get that?

I think it's Donald Sutherland, or someone doing their very best.

Upon listening to another ten minutes, that sounds identical to Donald Sutherland.
