Quick Look: BlazBlue: Calamity Trigger

Is it just me or are these two guys overly hostile to the idea of learning new things in a video game?

why does it happen everytime i find an accessible character in the most obscure fighting game that i have no knowledge over whatsoever and decide to pick a character to get good with... gets compared to Ken in SF4.

I can never win.

Got this game really good has that great Guilty Gear feel to it.  Can't wait to see what arc made of the next GGX game they do which they did say would continue

Game Trailers claim this game is better than Street Fighter IV. I don't know about that. The guilty gear games are good, but there is that craziness to it that can be confusing, and this game seem to take that to the extreme.

I gotta say, as someone who's only a casual fan of fighting games, I'm a fan of what it looks like they're trying to do with the story.

Rather than try to construct something halfway coherent or completely half-assed, just put all effort into making me say "What the fuck?" as much as humanly possible. It's sure as hell entertaining.

Ah hah, hush that fuss, Big Boobie Lady to the back of the bus!  An achievement for suviving the intro, lol cute.  I'll rent it though. 

That was hilarious. It started all nice and normal then slowly began to descend into absurdity, only to fall faster and faster until by the end you're just like, "What?"

Got my preordered copy of Blazblue today. Amazing game so far - gone through everything the GB guys went through here - and I just LOVE the gameplay and graphics and everything else about it. It's actually really easy to get into once you start playing it in real life.

It's over 9000! I was waiting for someone to jump in with that, well done Ryan

Please bring this game to the UK. I don't wanna have to imported onto my ps3 instead of 360.

This game looks too crazy for me.

This is my second time watching this and I have one thing to say. "What the fuck man (but in a good way)"

Also, I'm thinking that if I ever have a young female teacher while I'm in collage I'll (at least once anyway) say "Teach me, Boobie Lady". Because it wil be awesome, for me anyway.

Aside from the strange tutorial, the fighting aspects look pretty cool!

Story mode looks like they took all the technobabble from Star Trek, mixed it up & put in 3 words that you might find related to the story. Few of the female character designs are interesting but the fighting part of the game itself looks meh, story improv thing is a big WTF of strangeness.

This game just makes me wish there were more INNOVATIVE fighting games. The fighting genre as it stands now has grown extremely stale. If you strip this game down to just its bear gameplay mechanics, not counting the graphics or anything else.. its not a very appealing game. When I saw this game getting such high praise elsewhere on the internet I thought, finally, maybe a game company went and made a new and original fighting game, but sadly that looks like its not the case.

If you're a fighting game genre addict, then I can see why this type of game will appeal to you. If you like anime, then I see why this game will appeal to you, but if you like fun and original games that push the boundaries of what a game is.. well then I don't see what's so appealing about this game.

How about a fighting game with RPG mechanics, physics based interactions, SOMETHING else to make it new and original. Perhaps I'm wrong about this game, but to me it looks like more of the same with a few new fighting moves in the mix.

Arakune is such a bitch in this game! Bang is da bomb though!

To those of you that are turned off by this Quick Look, please don't be. Go watch gametrailers.com's review. I almost didn't get this game because of this Quick Look but I must say the game is amazing. If you want a very good, very fast paced, and very anime fighting game, this is for you.

I've always hated anime, and Guilty Gear was the only exception because Guilty Gear was my favorite fighting series, but  Blaze Blue looks like it has taken everything I didn't like about the Guilty Gear games and expanded on them, and then got rid of all the things I did like about Guilty Gear, no way I'm going to get this.

Showing the long ass story opening...maybe not the bests part of the game to quickly look at...

This whole video reminds me why I don't like anime.

I bought this game day one and tried it out for about a week of serious playing. It just wasn't for me.  Immediately dove back into SFIV.

I think "Teach Me, Boobie Lady!" would be a good off-shoot series of educational software.

Yeah..I'm trying not to be THAT guy, but its pretty clear that this quick look does the game a massive disservice.  
Don't be put off the game because Jeff and Ryan don't like it. 
IMO its miles better than SFIV in every respect.

I saw this game on a few people's lists and thought it *looked* awesome.  But I have no desire to play this after watching its review.  This is why I like to play game demos first before deciding what I like.  its usually pretty clear to me even after playing a short demo whether or not I will get into a given game.

This looks no crazier to me than any other fighting game.  I don't really play fighting games, but I don't see why people are calling this insane

While I don't enjoy the fighting system as much as SSF4, the amount of content in this game and the sequel are incredible.  You can really see the developers pour out a lot of energy into it, from the story modes, the tips modes, the trials, the tutorials.  Really a complete game and I wish Capcom would match it.

I am so glad I randomly decided to watch this.

You know what I like? Street Fighter II Turbo; now that there is a fighting game. I do appreciate the ridiculous stuff that seems to have been crammed into this, though.

I just bought Blazblue Continuum Shit Extend on 360 for real cheap and I just had to come back and watch this. The game is insane and I understand nothing, just like I expected
