Maybe they realised that very few people come to this site for news, but rather for the videos and podcasts. And I would guess the other guys are just tired of doing QLs so they just have Patrick do them more and more cause he doesn't have much else to do. Just a guess though.

This game looks simply.. delightful. The bizarre randomness is oddly compelling, I'm putting this on my wishlist for sure.

Haha, the excellent internal logic of the Botanicula world is very appealing. I want to play this, preferably with Vinny doing the official voiceover if at all possible to further enhance it if at all possible. Great game to give some exposure to because aside from the Bombcast mention and a stylish Steam promotion screen I didn't know anything about this.

dude, its great. I have been of a fan of this studio since Samorost which seems like it came out.. i dunno... 7 years ago? If you get the Humble Bundle for whatever pennies you are willing to spare, you get Samorost 2, machinarium and botanicula. I heartily recommend all of them, and play them in that order to get a sense of the studio's technical progression. I am a games dev student and I have fallen in love with their use of simple mechanics and beautiful organic environments. Samorost is filled with straight up photographs of bits of wood. BITS OF WOOD. And its beautiful.

Yeah the comments to this video are pretty toxic. Can't please everyone...

FWIW, I like Patrick. I think he fits in better with the core GB crew than Brad, but you don't see me posting in each podcast thread saying "Oh jeez, not Brad again!". This is their job. They do their best. I have my own job to worry about, let alone someone else's.

In other news, Botanical Draculas are no joke. Glad I bought the Humble Bundle for this, the game looks really entertaining.

I love this game and Vinny and Patrick made a great QL with it.

One tiny technical warning about Botanicula though. The game was made at 1440x900 and does not scale to higher resolutions. On a higher resolution monitor it'll display in a black bordered window when in full screen mode. Machinarium was the same way, though in that case it was 1280x800, so at least Botanicula is a small step up.

If you want it to take up the full screen you'll have to set your desktop resolution to 1440x900 and rely on your monitor or video card's scaling interpolation to make it look decent.

Seems a lot of people still didn't get the memo about Patrick working at Giantbomb.

This was a fun quick look, I like these devs, Need to finish Machinarium!

You are right, people are entitled to their opinion. It is their opinion that they would rather have other people on the quick looks regardless of circumstance or reasoning. It is my opinion that these people are ridiculously self-entitled, especially in this video, in which it is my opinion that Patrick is great in.

For the record, I really dislike that it seems that with the rapid amount of content being churned out over the past few days, some of which to include Patrick, a(n) (un)healthy amount of the conversation seems to turn to exactly this. I just thought I'd come out of the closet as a detractor of Patrick detractors before I slink back into it, especially in a video as great as this one, in which we should be talking about how bloody good this game looks and how I should have it this instant.

Once getting past the odd name (to me mixing plants with Dracula is how I keep reading it), turns out to be an interactive version of the Cronenberg film Naked Lunch...maybe.

This game is so ridiculously charming, I guess you can compare it to Rayman Origins in that it can make a smug asshole like me smile and do "oohs" and "aahs" like a baby.

Thank goodness for the Humble bundle. Now I have a whole bevy of ridiculously adorable things to click around on. If anyone's on the fence about going over the average, don't worry and just do it. Windowsill was a great, albeit brief, experience that produced a few gasps of surprise. I can't wait to jump into Botanicula later.
