I think it's about time for Rune 2 to get made.

D: i thought i was the only one who knew about rune that game is one of my favs.

Oh, shit. Yeah, that Viking game! That was awesome and definitely warrants a sequel.

Nice to see some kickstarter games come to fruition and actually be good.

Judging solely based on both quicklooks, I think this one looks more fun than War of the Roses, but there's certainly something to both of em.

God dammit Brad. Play Mount and Blade already.

edit: I dunno. It doesn't look like it's worth $25, and lacks a certain amount of polish. Barely looks even worth $15. I'll keep my eye out for a Steam sale.

This looks pretty awesome I think. It is definitely added to my list of games for when I get free time..... right next to war of the roses...

Good to see this game lives up to the standard that War of the Roses set for arrows getting stuck in weird places. One of those guys had an arrow floating above his shield!

I played with the demo and it seems fun but it's yet another in a growing list of games (Skyrim, Dead Space, Walking Dead) that screws over us lefties by not letting you re-bind keys to the numpad. Granted, in Chivalry it's set up so that you should be able to do so, but as of now, there seems to be a conflict and some keys won't work.

I hope they get it sorted out as I'd like to play this game but I won't buy until they do.

One solution is to get a one handed gaming keyboard like the Logitech G13 or a Wolfking Warrior. You can't keep relying on developers to implement things that can be solved on the user end. Doing so drastically limits the number of games you'll let yourself play.

edit: And even if you get one, there will be games that require more keys than the gameboards offer (such as the Arma series). The actual only true solution would be to learn how to mouse with your right hand.

This looks really awesome but I feel like it needs more progression. Anyone know if there is progression beyond the weapon unlocks?

No, the one true solution would be to ask developers to implement proper key remapping functions and refuse to buy games that don't. ArmA2 fully supports key rebinding as do most games. Your assertion that I just learn to use my right hand is ridiculous. "Hey baldy! Just grow some hair, loser!' "Hey ugly chick. Try not being so ugly. ugly!" "Hey cripple! Learn to walk!" Brilliant.....

LOL! I can use my left hand and I'm not even a lefty. What a silly and defensive excuse. You just want something to complain about and don't actually care to solve it.

Also clearly you didn't understand WHY I even mentioned Arma, so let me reiterate: ARMA REQUIRES MORE KEYS THAN A G13 WILL OFFER, MAKING EVEN IT NOT THE BEST SOLUTION, UNLIKE LEARNING TO USE YOUR OTHER HAND. But it's not like anybody would know why I'd say anything like that since you cut out the most relevant and informative piece of my response. Stupid me, trying to offer advice to an obvious troll.

The point of refusing to buy a game is to make a significant impact on the game's sales so the devs take notice. The majority will still buy the game so a very small percent of the market boycotting it will not force anyone's hand (pun not intended). Sometimes life is unfair, accept it and solve the problem yourself instead of sitting in your chair, being miserable, and impotently raging at the uncaring internet.

I wonder if this game will be dead in a month..... It looks good but will people play it long enough?

People played Age of Chivalry, the Source mod this is based on, long after the developers announced they would stop supporting it to make this game, so I'd say it'll be around a while.

The worst QLs are when the person playing is explaining the game to the person in the room and not to the wider audience. All I could imagine was Drew looking over at Brad as he explained how to play the game (as seen given Drew's dancing around, not going into fights for the first half of the QL) instead of playing the game then explain what he just did/was doing.

This Quick Look has, at least, convinced me that if I buy a medieval combat simulator, it will be Chivalry: Medieval Warfare and not War of the Roses.

According to French historian Francois Mignet, in 1793 Charlotte Corday's decapitated head responded to being slapped across the cheek by a carpenter hired to repair the guillotine named Legros after her execution for the assassination of Jean-Paul Marat earlier that same year (the carpenter later served 3 months in jail for the display).

Might try it. It'd be nice to have some single player stuff using this combat.

Feel like it's hard to have an opinion about this game without having played it but it still comes across as a cheap mod to me. Wish Drew would have done more with the archery as from what i've seen of it it looked pretty low rent.

As someone who likes War of the Roses i just can't tell if i'd like this as well, looks like it lacks a lot of the depth in the combat system that i find interesting in WotR.

I've used up my budget for this month, and $25 is a bit more than I'd think to pay for a multi-player only game. Will probably pick it up the moment it goes on sale though.

By the way, I love multi-player games with map/objective progression. Loved that about Battlefield 2 and got really disappointed it wasn't included in Battlefield 3 (was probably the work of the Kaos Studio guys, who we're dropped off after BF2 and went on to make Frontlines: Fuel of War and Homefront - both of which had that kind of map progression). Makes repeating maps remain interesting. The Battlefield 2 model where the actual map playlist was altered depending on who won was really fascinating and something I'd hope to see in more games.

Too bad they didn't show Fisticuffs. BUT KNOW IT IS THERE! You can totally unequip your weapons and just go for fisticuffs and actually win against players who are using weapons. Fisticuffs is a viable "weapon"!

Your head almost loses consciousness immediately when you are beheaded - blood pressure drops to zero and you lose perfusion to the brain. Your facial muscles still twitch after a while, but that's not conscious action. I would be very surprised if you maintained consciousness for more than 3 seconds after being beheaded.
