@thelegendofmart: When 90% of your comment history is dissing Brad... with one complaint even being "Good lord Brad needs to stop growling and sucking air in through his teeth when he gets beat, its freaking annoying" then it's probably time to walk away from the site if you irrationally hate a guy that much, fella.

This game looked really boring in the first quick look, although I knew it'd get a good rating because of who reviewed it. This time around looks especially boring.

Everyone who gets down on Brad in the fucking internet comments section needs to cool off. I wonder that so many people could have gotten far in their lives without learning to appreciate the idiosyncrasies of those around them. As though "approaches problem-solving in video games exactly as I would" is an at-all reasonable measure of a person.

Tries to build a combo and gets hit by zombies, walks 5 feet, tries to build a combo and gets hit by zombies, walks 5 feet, tries to build a combo and gets hit by zombies..... there is "plays different than me" and then there's "just bad at videogames".

Even Jeff was getting irritated.

As for idiosyncrasies, if someone irritates me in real life I can walk away, I am subbed to this site and enjoy the content but Brad is in every video so I don't have a choice.

Except you really can just close the tab and walk away. You always have a choice.

@icantbestopped: you're right, the game got a good rating because Brad reviewed it and he likes Dead Rising.....like a lot of people do.

With that said, I do agree this dlc is pretty middling. And just sou you know Brad, the combo weapon in the DLC is about 2 missions into the dlc, it's on the mission path so you won't miss it. Personally I thought it was a bummer they only threw one in but at least it's a pretty fun weapon to use.

The bitrate on this video seems bad.

Yeah, it's especially noticable in DR3.

As for Brad's playstyle, I really couldn't care less. I'd probably do as bad while playing on camera with people next to me trying to show and explain stuff. If I remember right(do I?) he was doing really good during his ExtraLife live stream. Maybe he prefers to be alone while playing anything?

Meh, who cares. I love the guy as much as the rest of the crew.

I'm just going to assume everyone bitching about this has never actually played the game, because the ingredients for practically every recipe that isn't in a building or on a roof are strewn in the middle of a zillion zombies. You're REALLY stretching for something to complain about here.

No ones blaming the game....

I just don't enjoy the indecisiveness and hesitation about making choices, I get it's hard to talk and play at the same time but it really turns me off.

What I dont really understand is Brad complaining how easy the dlc is. Despite the fact that Brad leveled his character using the method that Vinny discovered.

If one wants to keep the game challenging then it is best not to use exploits that make the game too easy. Still dont understand why Vinny, Brad and Jeff decided to use that exploit since it kinda makes the game too easy to play through.

It's not that, I am deaf and I have to normalise the volume on all the audio on my computer, when Brad messes up or dies it blows out the sound, hurts my ears and aggrivates my tinnitus to the point where I can't sleep at night until my brain "filters" it out.

I love Brad, but man it's been hard to watch this and Demons Souls. I know it's more difficult to play and carry on a conversation at the same time, but it's not that hard. It's not so hard that people around the world don't do it over Skype, or Xbox Live or whatever service on a regular basis. We're talking about a dude who plays Dota while commentating and carrying on conversations, but looks at a pack of five zombies and ignores them before complaining about the mission structure being terrible. It was pretty boring, but the only task was to kill everything and he seemed to not want to do that. In Demons Souls he kept acting so indecisive, getting right next to his objectives but ignoring them or being wary of things that the game doesn't do - ie have you interact with something and kill you for no reason in a situation you couldn't possibly have avoided. Even things as simple as taking his armor off and forgetting the slots it was in beforehand. Brad makes some of my favorite comments during these videos, out of all the commentary he and Drew seem to drudge up the most odd and interesting things, it's just a little hard to watch him fight what the games want him to do.

Jeez its been a slow month

January and February are a pretty slow month for everything. Movies don't really start coming out until March, games don't hit until the very end of Q1, and even a lot of television coming back for the winter waits until the season's well underway. Games get the added bonus of having another dry spell throughout the entire summer. Video games!

@brad: just wanted to make you aware that the new combo weapon is on the mission path line so you can't miss it. I actually think it's the mission that started right when the quick look ended. It's probably the best way to do it so you don't miss it considering not everyone collected all the recipes. It's a cool weapon and all but the rest of the dlc I thought was meh, hoping the next ones are good!

Everything Brad is saying just goes and confirms my fears about Dead Rising 3 sucking out the replay value. By the end of the game, he wasn't fighting zombies at all, wasn't crafting weapons, had hit max level, and was just grabbing crafted weapons from the locker. That sounds dull as shit.

I mean, but didn't they do that to themselves though by using the Ultimate Grim Reaper thing? I know that if I wasn't max level and had everything, I would still like to be able to make progress on my character even while playing these DLCs...

Maybe Spoilers:

Also, I'm calling it, I bet that Angel DLC will be about Katie Greene and Chuck, and maybe why she left him (course, I haven't played this game to completion yet, so...)

Actually, Angel is a character in the game. She has a bullet through her head at the rooftop of that fancy hotel. Annie talks about how Angel was a great resistance member.

Heh. Repulse is in the main game, and all Dead Rising games. In the old games, its use was balanced by how short it lasted, but in Dead Rising 3, once you get the book that makes drinks last longer (which Brad apparently didn't have), you become even MORE overpowered.

There is replay value, especially if you go for all the achievements/PP trials (though killing 320,000 zombies is not really that fun, so thank God for the Xbox One snap function so I could watch/listen to other things while doing it). However, it does seem less than the old Dead Rising games. Part of that is the long-ass timer they give you to basically do everything in one playthrough. The weapon locker really does take some of the fun out of it, though.

Oh man, wait until Brad combines 2 sodas, or soda and coffee. The zombie repluse is going to look like garbage compared to Invincibility. Combo foods we're in the original game too btw, theres even a room with all of them and a book about crafting them above the garage in Ingleton. @brad If you're going to keep playing maybe go look for that, or just combine 2 "energy" drinks lol also that blueprint is underground (the one under the bus) and it took me hours to figure out when I started collecting them all >:l

So what would be the point in me getting this DLC if I am already capped out. I know you can be like to kill more zombies but I can just play through the original. New weapons and combos are not enough to attract me to purchase new DLC.

I wish Brad would just focus at bit more on getting through the missions in the quick looks. I often find the QL's were Brad plays to be the least interesting.

I give them that the "clear out all the enimies in the area" mission design sucks and something I hope more and more developers move away from but Brad spend like ten minutes complaining instead of just focusing on finishing the mission. He could have cleared that area in 2 minutes instead of 10.

Anyways I guess that's the reason why I don't care too much about the QLs anymore. I actually prefer GI's videos if I want to get a quick impression of a game. They just seem to be a bit more to the point.

The compression artifacting on some of these quick looks lately has been really bad. This one and AC Liberation break down into complete garbled messes at some points.

So what would be the point in me getting this DLC if I am already capped out. I know you can be like to kill more zombies but I can just play through the original. New weapons and combos are not enough to attract me to purchase new DLC.

To call a duck a duck, it's a $10 side mission pack with a new skin and a handful of craftable items. You know, typical Capcom DLC.

Personally I find it about as appealing as I found the original game: Not very.

I imagine some players may not be capped after their play through so this one gets a bit of a pass on that particular aspect, but I sincerely hope the other three DLCs add something on which to spend those extra points.

If I was Brad I'd just try and get to a safe spot and then try to craft stuff, but hey. That is just me. I also felt that they were maybe a little too critical on the whole "kill all zombies" section. It is not the most original mission design, but I felt they made it out to be worse then it really is.

I don't usually post often, or much at all. I agree with all of this, except the part about brad being in every single one. Brad as a person is great. Very funny guy. He works there, he is going to be in alot of quicklooks. However, he isn't in all of them. He just needs a logical work flow when he is in the drivers seat of one.

He just needs a "Quicklook play mode." Such as giving a brief run down of new features etc.

Put simply, he needs to make himself a checklist on quicklooks.

Brad is much better in QuickLooks as the person asking questions about mechanics and what's going on in the game. This way if he misses something obvious or isn't following along, it's easy for Jeff or Vinny to use it as a chance to explain more about the game, or they can ignore/ridicule him if it's a dumb question. The past several Brad-centric QL's have just been unpleasant, and I know they wouldn't have been without somebody else driving them.

Not convinced it's Brad's fault this was a bore -- the game just looks boring. It's Dynasty Warriors with novelty guns and about the same amount of AI (which is to say not much at all). Were this not a launch game in some hotly-contested console holy war, I doubt many would care it exists, much less prop it up as special.

I feel like this is the sort of game where it's very easy to get distracted from the mission. So many zombies, random weapons and vehicles around makes it hard to focus on what you're doing. I mean, it happens to me all the time in GTA or AC games. With open worlds and stuff everywhere, I'm almost always going to be distracted by things to kill, cool shit to climb or look at, things to pick up etc. I've never played Dead Rising but I feel this would be much worse for me.

Decent enough quick look here with some entertainig commentary, which is pretty much all I've ever cared about in GB videos.

I don't believe combo weapons or secrets are ever underground. Thought the same thing, but it turns out there isn't an underground. Found em all through doors you need keys for and jumping on top of stuff (using cars or certain spots) Could be different for this DLC I guess.
