Quick Look: Deadliest Warrior: Legends

I don't know anything about liking the first ironically.  That was a fun game to sit down with a friend and play.
 
Edit:  Also, Zombie and Slice mode were both in the first game.  You had to enter a code.

and its not on discovery or history channel...it's on spike...the opposite of those other two

I don't know. It's so campy, I think  I'd have fun with it. Especially with how laugh out loud bad the animations are for the ranged weapons.  I'd never pay money for it though....   Love the show however! Just because it's cool to think of history's greatest warriors turned into Mortal Kombatants! 

That was great, best quick look in a long long time!

The only thing I really like about these games are the insta kills. The rest is just shit.

There's a thing in this industry we like to call "gameplay mechanics."

I know! Fortunately for these types of games, the bar is set very, very low so if you know how to mash some buttons they pretty much play themselves :)

Mortal Kombat 9 is one of the best playing fighting games I've ever played. Up there with the major Street Fighter games and, one of my personal favorites, Soul Calibur 2. The over-the-top violence is just a little bit of superficiality layered on top of an incredibly solid fighting game with the best story mode on the market.

Yes, the latest Mortal Kombat seems like a genuinely good fighting game. That couldn't be said for the first few games though, which only was popular due to the over the top violence, which makes the comparison pretty valid in my opinion. The AI seems really, really horrible in this though, where MK had decent AI but bad gameplay mechanics. Both should be played against other humans though.

HAHA That quick look was the best in a long time.  Because I like dumb stuff and cause I had a lot of fun with the first one, I got it and had a lot of fun with it. Actually ALL the final strikes are pretty hilarious and there was that generals mode was pretty fun (that's a whole other game).   And despite all of the QQ, they were having a good time by the end and isn't that the point? Besides it's only $10.

Great quicklook or greatest quicklook?

The first game looked horrible, but this might be legitimately decent for the price. Graphics and animations seem better, the grab mini-game looks fun, and Zombie is effing HILARIOUS. Only bad thing seems to be the VAs and the occasional hit detection problem. I wish the QL covered the Generals mode; would have been nice to see if the devs had started thinking outside the box of their first game. 
 
I still wouldn't buy at $10--there's way better games for that price--but for $5 on the other hand...

Have to admit, the show on Spike is quite good on at least showing off the weapons/techniques from all over history (until the silly fighting at the end). I'd rather watch that show or this QL than play it. Surprised that they went with the Time Killers approach to near immediate fatalities, shame as that game was at least funnier as you could be still fighting without arms & just kicking the opponents.

Every time Ryan is on the controller you can hear his button presses. Super aggressive lol. I like the sound of button pressing.

Something looks oddly appealing about this game.

This just became my favorite Quick Look of all time. Also, there should probably be a Deadliest Warrior: Legends feature for TNT or a scrub league episode.

This is the Bushido Blade sequel that we'll never get.

And I thought no game could  pass the lulz given to me  from years of Time killers Hell that Is why I own the fucking game for the lulz. 
 
This game may have done it and it only took 19 years for it to come now I can fight less than just having no arms this game is revolutionary leap beyond time killers j can now fight with no head in time killers if I lost my head it was death this will happen no more.

It's totally not on discovery or the history channel, it's a Spike TV show which explains why it's so ridiculously stupid.

Hearty is a good description. Though he lost it completely in the Darkest of Days QL, which still ranks among the greatest QLs for me.
