Yeah I don't think that this is worth it (especially when one had the choice of a replica Mario hat).
 
Seems like a glorified demo, or maybe something that could've been included in the training mode of the actual game.

i went with the mario hat option for my platinum reward, and used it to scare the children on beggar's night. 

I don't know why everyone is saying only motion is available.  That's how I prefer to play it, but if you want to play it with just the buttons, just take the nunchuk out.  Do it at the menu if it's not letting you change during the fight.  I've gotten it to work both ways myself, it might just be it doesn't let you switch while you're fighting, and you have to either be on the main or pause menu.

You can play with the sideways Wiimote, guys, just don't plug in the nunchuk and it works fine. It's really a pretty good fight, and basically has three difficulty modes where Doc's moved get harder and harder to predict and dodge. For free it's a great bonus.
 
I just can't believe it took almost half the Quick Look for you to figure out that you needed to punch him. In Punch-Out.

I got a Mario hat instead of this. I think I made the right choice.
