What is striking about this game is the amount of re-used assets. I'm 10 hours in and Ive been to the same cave, inside of a house, shipping dock, coastal area multiple times on different quests. Those quests were supposed to be in different locations!! Feels rushed in that respect.

I bought the first one and wanted to like it, but I just can't take these games seriously. I made a character of the human warrior origin or whatever, where you have to fight rats in the kitchen. Coming out of that fight drenched in blood was so silly. Between that and the relationship stuff, which I felt was a bit poorly handled, the game just had zero impact for me. 
 
I feel like the preview image for this QL almost tells me all I need to know about whether I should give DA another chance, but the gameplay does look a bit more down my alley. I'll give it some thought.

I couldn't actually watch much gameplay last night, because my ISP shut down the internet for maintenance and my phone was providing sub-5 fps video, but I still got to see essentially a slideshow of the guys playing, and the audio worked, so I enjoyed it. 
 
And my god, truly this is the age of gratuitous blood. 
 
I saw one hit Ryan made during that fight sequence in the prison, and he hadn't even killed the guy, but blood exploded everywhere just with that hit. 
 
Also, Hawke is pretty hot.

I tried to play DA:O but apparently even Bioware can't make a fantasy game I'd be willing to play. Fuck fantasy with its dwarfs, elves and mages. I just can't take any of it seriously even if I try. I feel like I'm missing out. :<
