Quick Look: Dynasty Warriors 8

watching this quicklook actually ruined my day.

No, Ao is blue and Midori is green. They only use Ao to mean green for stoplights, which I still don't understand. Maybe there are other exceptions, but for the most part, no one would call something green Ao in Japan.

This'll do, I suppose.

I will always hold a place in my heart for the Dynasty Warriors series. But, they will never be as fun alone, as when you play with friends.

I can see the appeal of these games if you want a mindless beat-em-up, but god damn, for a game premised on slicing dozens of guys at a time, it sure runs like dogshit anytime the action gets going.

Yeah that's more Dynasty Warriors. Looked alright until the horrendous slowdowns. Next gen Warriors games with ragdoll, with more (and non-popping in) enemies, generally better looking and hopefully with no damn slowdowns should be awesome.

As for what I like about these games, it's all about that grouping enemies up and sending em all flying feeling. It's like when you clear half the screen in Tetris, it's just really satisfying.

@theht@deathpooky: The slowdown is only dogshit on the 360 version. PS3 runs fine. Should be a patch up for the 360 version sometime soon.

"War is hell-a cool" is my favorite thing from this.

There is so much shit on screen during that tutorial that I thought they were playing Final Fantasy XIV.

It runs slow, the textures are flat, but I think this games biggest crime is that it just looks flat out boring.

Is it a continuous story, or do the same events just play repeatedly in all the games?

I once wrote an email into the podcast to explain why i like dynasty warriors, jeff actually asked for people to write in to explain in the midst of a rant.

So Ryan goes to read my email and Jeff cuts him off in the first sentence like a jerk, and that's the end of that.

So when Jeff says "Every now and then i ask people what they like about dynasty warriors" and can't seem to get a definitive answer. Well....

I guess what i'm saying here that if you like this game, you know why and you shouldn't feel bad that Jeff doesn't like it, because you have nothing to prove to someone who isn't interested in understanding.

This game looks like a big waste of time to me. Sorry, guys. :(
