Quick Look: EX: Dungeon Siege III

Listening to the guy talk nonstop gave me a headache. I need to lie down.

The guys making fun of the developer for the "ums" must've never given a big speech or presentation before. It can be extremely nerve-wracking, and unfortunately when nervous and speaking publicly it sometimes results in an unconcious peppering of "um" and "uh" throughout, particularly with demonstrative speeches as is the case here. Dude probably just knew he had a lot riding on this and it would reach a large-ass audience. Biggest speech I've ever given was to 50 people; this guy is speaking to thousands. Outside of his comfort zone, narrating what someone else is doing, etc.

That said, game looks like more of the same. Pass. I do love me some Obsidian though

seems interesting, but i'll probably wait for a price drop before i buy it.

Is this Ayn Rand's Dungeon Siege? Beating them down because they want to unionize? 

Camera doesn't look all that hot, but combat looks a lot more interesting that Torchlight, at least.

wow this looks way better than I thought it was gonna be, I will probably pick this up now, not much else coming out in june I don't think, plus I loved DS1.

Wow, this looks like a lot of fun. I am impressed.
Think I'll get this for the co-op. Reminds me of the console Baldur's Gate games I played on PS2.
I have the original Dungeon Siege still, I don't remember it being very good. This looks like they've improved it a lot though.

I'm surprised by how good this game looks.  I had pretty low expectations, but this quick look sold me.  This will fill the dog days of summer nicely.

Is it just me, or the framerate seems very stable? I'm actually considering getting this for 360. I didn't know this was coming out for consoles. I was hoping it would be a GFWL game, but no luck there.

It looks really nice. A sort of "Torchlight meets Fable III".

This games look pretty interesting and a sure title for me to keep an eye on, but I just can't listen to an hour of this guy. He doesn't have a lot of luster and he doesn't mesh well with Ryan's constant joke making. Which I wouldn't of minded if his generally serious explanations of the game weren't so boring. It's as if the developer himself has zero passion towards the game.

You can crack it up to nerves, but if that's the case then surely there could of been someone else better suited?

Seems like you really have to use your abilities and dodge and stuff, which is good. Too many dungeon crawlers are about hammering one button. Looking forward to a review.

When I heard the words "Monster-corpse driven economy" I knew I was in the right place.

Looks kinda like a good version of Fable. What's the deal with singleplayer: just one character or AI buddies?

Am i the only one who's extremely annoyed by the gigantic ring around the characters that covers everything?

The guy's enthusiasm felt like insecurity, as if he couldn't let the game speak for itself. If it releases at the right time it might be worth checking out but if it comes near any one of the huge RPG releases this year.. well..

looks like fun. except for the camera in co-op, and the slightly choppy moving and aiming

Face it, while I've enjoyed most of their games, they're a second rate company that can't even produce their own original property.  Hell when they tried (Alpha Protocol) it failed miserably and wasn't even unique in any way...it was Mass Effect with spy mechanics.

Stop diluting yourself tool.  You're company does mediocre to decent ONLY on OTHER PEOPLES properties.

I think it will be a solid RPG.

Between Darkspore, Torchlight 2, Dungeon Siege 3 and Diablo 3 & PSO2 on the horizon, I feel like I'm in ARPG heaven all of a sudden.

I know this was an "EX" Quick Look, but I don't think it suffers at all because of it.  It wasn't as entertaining as the EX with Shane Bettenhausen but it was pretty informative.  Since Ryan had hands on for an hour of straight game play, it never for a moment felt limited or guided.  

Wow, I'm really surprised by this QL. I've never really played an ARPG like this before, nor any other game in the Dungeon Siege series. But this really looks cool, I'd love to try it out. I'm curious if I really need to play the first two games though, anybody know if it's required to enjoy this one?
