Quick Look: EX: Skulls of the Shogun

This game looks pretty slick, day one purchase for me

Looks 'effin cool.

I keep wanting to read the title of this game as "Skulls of the Shotgun".  "Shogun" was a much better choice.

Wow. That all looks really rad. Simple, yet could also carry deep strategy.

Big fan of SRPG, but this seems to lack the depth I usually look for.  No class advancement, no equipments or items, very limited unit capabilities.  With the exception of resource gathering, this feels just as stripped down as Advance Wars (which is a series I don't really care for, combat is too rock-paper-scissor).  I suppose since they are aiming for accessibility, in that sense they achieved it, but not what I want out of this genre.
 
Don't like the non-grid/hex movement, because in my experience it is very imprecise otherwise.  Also not a fan of turn base multiplayer, the amount of downtime is incredible the more people you add.  Best of luck to these guys though.

I love the art style and then gameplay for this. Definitely interested.

Looks simple and fun, hope to see a PSN release maybe in the future.   At the same time, I like the depth and class changes/development etc. of other strategy games.

Reinventing the wheel by copying a bunch of real strategy games and dumbing them the fuck down.

I liked the guys who were on the couch. They were talking more about the game and not saying cool ever five seconds. Also it helps that they seem to have made a good looking game.    

Looks neat! Can't wait to see more units and love the art style.

I love julmust! It's one of the best parts of Christmas in Sweden. It's like one of the only beverages in the world that defeated Coca Cola of being the number 1 Christmas drink in a country. We love our julmust to much!  
 
I have tried to let my danish coworkers taste it but usually only one person per years likes it. It's wierd. Americans would mabey like it because of the tradition with rootbeer, cream sodas and stuff like that. Julmust is not as sweet but very tasty anyways!

There's something about this that feels like too much freedom...
I mean, turn-based strategy can only go so far, and of course it has to evolve, and this is definitely an understandable, and actually pretty awesome evolution of it. But looking at it, it's just a bit weird for someone who grew up on FF Tactics and whatnot.

Not only does the game look fun, but as an amateur XNA developer it's really nice to see someone make quality games with the system!

Looks fun, definitely will wanna buy it.

Poor Skulls of the Shogun, getting stuck in release date limbo for two years despite being the exact same game it was back then.

I hate it when people pronounce the word cavalry as calvary... Especially when they do it over and over and over again.

Pet peeves aside, this looks kinda cool.

The mic work on this 2010 video sounds way crazy bad to me now, I guess Vinny and crew is really taking advantage of that CBS money.

I think this is well made but judging from the trial it's not for me. Too slow.
