Lol, I guess we needed another game that came out years ago...

When I read the game title as Final Fantasy IV: the complete Kollection does that mean I played too much MK in the last few days?

I wish they would just release these games for iOS. I haven't played my PSP in about 2 years.

I can't stand Final Fantasy IV.
Edit: Although that has a lot to do with the fact that I can't stand the majority of the main characters of the game.  No problem with the game itself, but I couldn't find less compelling personalities if I tried.

One of the best FFs (Still partial to VI and VIII though) on probably my favourite platform at the moment.
Can't really complain with that, though I've played this game so many times i may wait a while before I pick it up.

FFIV is amazing.  This quicklook has made me want to buy this.  I hate you Brad.

I started to freak out when they started to name the items in the chest before they even opened the chest.

Amazing game through and through.  I've played this game so many times but I really appreciated re-release for the DS. 

Might be time to revive my PSP...

Final Fantasy 7-9 are just as good as 4 and 6.  They are so similar in style that it's just a matter of preference. But to praise the SNES games and completely discount the Playstation FF's is a really weird opinion to have.

How many times has this game been re-released?!

The real horror is I might just buy this anyway.

Fatlus out in full force i see :P Both games are great. But to call FFIV a game with no compelling characters is ridiculous. Especially with a persona avatar. How many of the persona characters fall into generic angsty teen? Most of them. That being said, a lot of the character development in FFIV is equally as bad, especially Yang Edge and Cid. However Cecil, Rosa and Rydia are all excellent characters. Persona 4 has some great characters too Adachi is fantastic. Yosuke is too, he definitely goes down a very unpredictable path with his coming to be as well. Still persona owes most of what it is to Final Fantasy's success and to call one of the best jrpgs of all time down when that clearly is a genre you enjoy just seems trivial. This game is incredibly old, there was simply nothing like this when it was around. I'm not a Final Fantasy fanboy, I have had enough with the series while I'm still very excited for the likes of persona 5 and  Catherine. The comments still come off as shallow and not putting into perspective when the game came out. Theres some great character development there, and while it obviously lacks modern story development techniques it still has great charm. It's an all time classic and no proper jrpg fan would think otherwise. Unless of course you're too young to appreciate it.

If we're throwing out FF opinions, I'd pick my favourites as V, IX and XII. V and XII are anomalies because the things I really love about them above others are gameplay systems. Seems like most people are make story and character preferences when it comes to FF because they tend to be functionally similar title to title, at least within hardware generations.

I think the DS version did a really great job of updating FF IV

I've only played FFXIII. I liked it, but feel no need to play previous FF games.

Man, the battle music is like a shot of pure nostalgia. I loved Final Fantasy back in the SNES days!

......wait didn't they do a 3D remake of Final Fantasy IV? Why are we suddenly going back to remaking IV again but in the old style but with higher textures?

I played the DS remake in it's entirety, it was pretty enjoyable. It was also a bit crazy when you had up to 5 characters in your party at once, you don't see that these days.

I'd be more interested in FFVI. Never clicked with FFIV.

This game goes down in my personal history as a real sea change in my gaming tastes. I had dabbled with FF1 and Dragon "Warrior", but Final Fantasy IV is where the JRPG shit hits my fan. I can remember not believing my eyes and ears as the story just kept going, and going, with several false endings along the way. This really is a seminal RPG for me, and Square can keep re-re-releasing it until I'm old and grey.

I wish they would reissue at least one version of these old FF games with no random encounters... meaning that they would instead feature visible enemies that you would have to bump into or attack in the field.

Oh man, I laughed inexplicably hard at Brad's "Look at that!" when he removed the stats window from the goblin's bestiary entry.

I wish someone could explain to me why FF4 has been "remastered" about 6 times now. Of all the games to remake. I really don't get it.

Final Fantasy VI is the best and anyone who says otherwise is wrong.

This looks pretty good. I want to get it soon.
