Quick Look: Final Fantasy IV: The Complete Collection

I don't know if it's sadder that I'm considering getting yet another version of Final Fantasy IV or that I'm waiting til PSN comes back to get a digital copy of it.

ugh... could barely stand random encounters then and can definitely NOT stand them at all now, one of the reasons why for me Chrono Trigger was always far superior to ff games.

Yeah, I don't understand why they didn't port over the DS version.

Already got the SNES Final Fantasies on GBA, that's all Final Fantasy I need. I wish Square Enix would get their shit together and make something new that was compelling instead of just endlessly milking and re-releasing the old ones.

The fact that Jeff said this was the last Final Fantasy he really cared about makes me very sad for some reason.

Don't kid yourself, everyone knows that the best Final Fantasy game is VI.

The only FF games I've ever cared for are V and VIII.

4 was quite good but I do dislike how this game hardly lets you play with a character and stick with it I remember.  One thing that bothered me a bit about how final fantasy games went.  You were constantly swapping characters forEVER  never getting to just pick a team and develop that team.  Probably one of the reasons I loved FFV so much.  6 was kinda like this but I feel it wasn't as bad with it, and for some reason I give it a pass, I feel it did it in a different way that was quite awesome.  With 6 your characters were so vastly different each one it was quite worth it jumping around between them to a degree and the story it gave you was SO good too.  Then at at a point you finally do get to make your party out of what classes you want.

I had the original neutered SNES copy. I own a Super Famicom copy. I have FFIV Advance. I have FFIV DS. I shouldn't want this. But I do. I hate myself. Wallet -$40

Just a note: Interlude is actually only about 3 hours long.

Looks like an alright port. I played hours of the DS version, suffered through it's old school dififculty, and then got to the Moon, went back to Earth to grind, saved, came back years later, and I don't know how to get up to the moon. I just remember loving it when it was not balls hard or grindy. 

I can't wait to buy this for my PSPGO!

I've never played this one, but I do plan on picking up a PSP soon.  I think this will be one of the first games I get.

Wait, since when are eidolons the default names of summons in the FF universe? Outside of 13 (and presumably 13-2) I can't think of any other FF game that uses that word...

They really need to release this on XBL. I'd buy it again. Hell I'd probably buy this even though I have no PSP.

I have never played this game. Of the main series I have played final fantasy 1,2,3,7,8,9,10,10-2. I understandably checked out after 10-2 never to return but I have always wanted to play 4,5 and 6, did they ever release a port of IV on the DS?
