Don't hold me to this since I was never a big fan of the series, but I'm fairly certain Metroids were an enemy in the original game, yeah.

Brad's ignorance of basic game mechanics is distressing. Though to be fair this game is pretty dense.

I do like the humour in this game even though the voice-acting itself is terrible.

Most reviews have said that there's a learning curve, but it works well when you get used to it.

It actually looks like a good game.

This game looks very good but Brad's probably right about the control, it seems very messy.

It's probably due to me watching someone playing the game, not me actually playing the game, but I have seriously no fucking clue of what's happening on screen right now.

"Brad: I wish people could see the position" yes God forbid any actual editing goes into these videos - Drew needs a 27 inch monitor and Final Cut so he can drag and drop two video files and an audio commentary before mashing the big red render button.

Love you guys, but seriously sometimes I wish you put just a tad more effort into these. How much time would it have taken to record 30 seconds showing Brad playing the game and splicing it into the Quicklook, if in fact thats such a big deal.

The "lanyard" he was describing totally exists. Except it was a wrist strap, not a lanyard. And the thumb touch-screen thing was awesome.

@Humanity: They totally did that for the Resident Evil 3DS game one, where they showed off the 2nd Circle Pad. It's beyond me how they didn't think to do the exact same thing for this...

The part where you play it looks really messy, but all the stuff in-between looks GREAT! Fusing weapons, puttin all your eggs in one basket, Tetris equips, that's all real cool.

Wow. Actually, take a shot every time they say "weird" in this Quick Look. You'll die of alcohol poisoning. It's a video game, guys. They were invented a long time ago.

Or they just didn't think of it.

I'm glad if Kid Icarus fans get a game they enjoy, but honestly, with the poor controls, obnoxious pandering dialogue, garish weapons and monsters, and kitchen sink approach to extra content, this game just seems like a mess to me.

That's a lot of venom. I can't really say I disagree though. The stand and control scheme has received more attention than the game itself. GB even did an unboxing video for the stand, yet they choose not to show it in use.

On top of that would have to be one of the greatest games of all time for me to play a portable game on a fucking stand.

If it's not portable on a portable system you already have failed and should have made it for your console.

I still have the finger stylus that was mentioned in the video! It's now tethered to my 3ds. I'll have to see how it plays with this.

I'm confused... Is the 3DS that much more uncomfortable than the original DS? Because that system had plenty of d-pad + touchscreen games, starting with Metroid Prime: Hunters, which was totally not a bad controlling game. I had a ton of fun with it at the time, and I was convinced there was a future for first person shooters on the DS... I did cramp up after an hour or two of playing, but that's a long time to be spending on a handheld game anyway, and that had more to do with the position of the buttons and d-pad and less to do with the weight of the system. A stand would have done nothing to change that.
