This intro is SO GOOD, I had to watch it again. No idea if they'll be able to top it in the rest of the QL.

I feel like this is the generation of "These graphics don't look completely lifelike, therefore I think they look terrible."

Man, can't believe this is "next gen" frame rate was tanking constantly. Definitely less than 20fps on a lot of the cut aways.

Wish they had money riding on the match or something, I don't feel like they really want to win.

The display thing comes from recording from a PS4 set to 720p. Just over $200 and you get 1080p60 recording capabilities.

The game is pretty huge, so buy physical if you can. Until some % of the download completes you can only play exhibition. Sounds like a case of "I think we started recording this too soon, we should have waited". Downloading = the initial load of the game goes way up, as does in-game loadtimes.

Is this a Sega CD game? What's the deal with these load times?

Other than that and the framerate, the game actually looks really good. That's the best sports game crowd I've seen so far.

They fired the game up before it even hit 20% downloaded, the PS4 has a mechanical drive and cannot read or write at the same time, nor can downloads (especially of a game currently being played) be paused.

They should have stopped the recording and waited for it to finish. This gives the game an unfair bad impression.

So I don't know a lot about baseball, but what is up with the "KKK" thing at 43:30?

I enjoyed the Major League quoting at 52 mins.

Lol love that bit where the guy couldn't walk down the stairs to the dugout. Lots of Janky animations all over the place if you could catch them. There's some quality there but feels like it's a hairs breadth away from falling apart at the seems.

@aidenyx: a 'K' represents a strikeout by the pitcher, and a backwards 'K' a strikeout where the batter didn't swing. Teams usually display strikeouts for the game by putting up Ks on the jumbotron.

Right, I forgot that you can start playing in the middle of downloading. I can imagine it won't be nearly as bad once it's fully loaded.

That said, even the ones with physical copies experience it being framey. Hope it's not a design choice.

But hey, even if EA were making baseball games, this would be the best there was of modern releases.

If anyone was wondering, Jeff couldn't get to the Double-A and Triple-A leagues because the All-Star teams do not have minor league affiliates. That's why it worked fine when he went to the Giants.

What's the logic on doing a QL on a game that isn't done installing? I know Jeff and Vinny already don't have a great impression of these games, but this just seems unfair. I thought the point of QLs is to give viewers an impression of the game.

Jeff complaining that not everything is available while the game is still downloading and installing things just seems kinda ignorant, isn't that obvious?

I feel like it's pretty unfair to judge a game that's only 30% installed yet.

Ehhhh, I always find their sports games QLs to be so boring now. That American Football one they did way back that I guessed kicked it all off was funny, but it was because of the weird physics and animations and such. As these games get more refined and there's less weird shit happening, then all you've got is 2 guys playing a game they don't know how to play. So you've got an hour+ long QL that's neither especially entertaining nor informative.
