Damn you guys are fucking nitpicking the shit out of the game. I think the big city board with the animations is really cool.

The throwing the dice animation for the boat captain looks like the universal hand sign for WANKER...just saying :)

HOLY SHIT. Xavier: Renegade Angel Alex? What is with every Ryan-Alex QL having incredibly obscure references? I mean...didn't they mention Fitzcarraldo at one point?

Cool to see I'm not the only one who had the Free Parking piggy bank rule..

I always thought the free parking takes the fee pot thing was standard Monopoly rules. Never played any other way...

The tophat was forever ruined for me when I played a Monopoly game where a rabbit was inside the hat controlling it.  Boooooo!

They kind of sounded like they were being recorded over Skype.

I hated putting the money in the middle and then whoever landed on free parking got it. No money would go into the bank because of that and the bank would end up going broke.

Too bad that there's not an Illuminati version of Monopoly on this (which adds a howitzer to the game) seen a long time ago online.  Bank auctions in this reminds me way too much of M.U.L.E.

We would play with a $500 in the middle for free parking+any taxes or things you paid from the chance cards and shit. SO when you land on it BOOM free money. Helps the game go quicker. 
 
During this years thanksgiving ( I live in Canada) we played a game and I actually did the impossible. I won and cleaned out the entire banks $500 stack...with nothing but 4 railroads and the red properties that come right after Free Parking. I ended up winning that game.

For the record, standard-ass Monopoly is a very balanced and strategic game. It's the house rules like putting money in the middle for Free Parking and not having any limit to how many houses and hotels you can buy that make it take forever, because all those rules do is let people who are losing prolong their misery instead of allowing them a quick and painless death.
 
Also the battleship is the best piece.

I was convinced this was an XBLA game. 40 bucks for this seems crazy. I thought maybe 1200 points on XBLA. Board games are so overpriced.

Regular ass Monopoly is the only way to play Monopoly.

He's also a GameSpot vet, does tons of reviews and video features with them, and there's not a lot going on for Screened at the moment. He might as well be considered both. By which I mean, he should have five separate pictures for his reviews too.

Release a goddamn XBLA version of Monopoly and I'd buy. And I'm sure many more people would, compared to the sales of this plus the other retail Monopoly game that game out last year. Ragin'.

Still this game would be a lot better with Ice T though.

I like that the description of the official rules says "play monopoly the RIGHT way!"  like all these crazy rules are for freaks.

The thing I don't get is that they already released Monopoly for consoles, with most of that stuff. The only thing new is the "streets" portion of the content.

Was this done on a different set? The audio has a lot of reverb and isn't up to the usual quality. However, if this means 2 different sets on which content is recorded concurrently (meaning more content) then I'm all for that!

I'm not sure what Ryan is complaining about. It seems pretty simple to orientate yourself if you're familiar with the Monopoly board. 
 
Also why not just buy real Monopoly for less money?

I actually really enjoyed this game. Played many hours of it.
