One of the most awesome indie RPG/strategy game series in a long, long time, and a game I don't think the mainstream press (Giant Bomb included, I guess) have really been able to do justice to, on account of its functional-but-dated visuals and interface.

Unfortunately TaleWorlds have started to get lazy... they need to do more than just rehash the same old stuff again and again.  I love the series, but damn, even this is starting to look just a bit stale.  Warband was already a bit long in the tooth, but it seems like they're settling for minor expansions rather than fixing some of the more obvious flaws in the series.  I know they're a tiny developer, but it's still a shame.

I'm not too sure about Fire and Sword. The bigger environments are great, but there's plenty of warband mods with guns, so that's not all that exciting to me. I see the potential in the bigger areas, though. If that was an update to their engine, that could be a great boon to any modder.

Why didn't Dave go get people from villiages? You can ask a group of people from towns to join your band. They aren't very skilled at first, but you get a lot!


...Unless they took that out from the recent games.

I played this for awhile then went back to Warband.

Will probably go back to WFAS when some mods come out.

I forgot how much of a bitch it is to get going.

That video is some of the most amazing things I've seen in a multiplayer game. Reminded me of the awesome times when I played multiplayer ArmA on custom mission maps, sitting in vent and taking orders.

Glad to see more QL with Dave & Vinny, seeing this makes me want to play Sid Meir's Pirates instead though. This just seems way too complex for me but enjoy dipping into games set before 1700s like SM Pirates.So bloody bizarre though to see this having multiplayer, last thing I would have expected for it. Wonder if they all all kinds of crazy mods like other classic multiplayer pc games.

Edit: yes I forgot that the last one has multiplayer too, never played Mount & Blade.

This game is so janky looking, but at the same time it is such a PC-ass PC game. There's something compelling about all of it.
