I haven't even clicked the play button yet, and I'm already terrified (and confused).

I like that this is a thing, but I don't actually want to play a mediocre point n' click adventure game.

You know, I'm bisexual, and I wish that there were more games with heavy LGBT elements, characters, etc in them.

Edit: Also, if you're going to do a "I lost my clothes in the transporter joke," you should at least make the guy actually nude. It's not like the game is holding back in any other way.

as @mooseymcman said, i'm all down for more representation of LGBT ( and all sorts of people) in all media, but the game seems kind of not very well produced, and at some point... undermining itself?

Maybe this is some next level meta-commentary attempt at normalizing that stuff. Like, "The LGBT community is about more than indie darling art-house tear jerkers like Gone Home! The desire to play bad budget adventure games transcends gender and sexual orientation!"

Okay, so maybe that's a bit of a reach.

@mooseymcman: The laser gun and suggestive fruit on the first planet is like something taken straight out of a leisure suit larry game. And while I have a bit of a soft spot for larry 1, having taught myself english while playing it at age 9, those were never good games. As bad as they were I still think they did innuendo better than this one though.

Same here, but in big AAA games. Not in the badly written ways Biowares ME series, definitely not in this "laugh it off" manner, rather something more professional and serious, more than a character databox; I would love something that makes the majority of under-30s players finding out the Thing go "oh this character is actually different in this way, nothing seemed different until now so I will treat this character the same as before and do the same in real life should I ever encounter somebody like that" (which is still a thing in supposedly open Sweden).

Do developers dare to? Do they get in trouble at the focus group stage? Do the suits protest? Would make great questions for anonymous answers from developers, writers, publishers. We're not asking them to go overboard SF pride parade, just give us change and something ever so slightly different. Pagan Min (Far Cry 4) is a good start even if it turns out he's just a weirdo crime lord.

I'm in the club of those sorely disappointed that James Vega was not available for a MaleShep romance in ME3, what an amazing punch in the hetero-normative face of entertainment that would have been. This game is pretty cute though.

@amafi: @bbalpert: My problem with the game isn't that it's just a bunch of dumb sex jokes, it's that it's gay themed only as a means for sex jokes. There's more to being LGBT than sex and ogling hunky guys (not that I'm saying anything against ogling hunky guys).

I'd like to know more about how this game was made, and the people that made it. I'm willing to bet they're all straight dudes.

@somejerk: I was just reminded about how in Persona 4, Yosuke was originally going to be romanceable just like all the female party members. But it was cut, for reasons that have never been fully explained (though it was likely to not alienate people). Link.

But yeah, I agree with you. I don't know how much I care for BioWare's attempts either. They seem to either include a couple of token gay characters, or just make everyone bi, which I've heard was the case in Dragon Age II. It's a little...predictable?

That said, I'd still take that over having it be 100% straight. Baby steps, I guess.

I gotta disagree with Alex on the lack of voice. If you can't afford great voice actors and voice direction, I think it would just make a lot of the humor feel even more flat. Even that's not enough sometimes. The Secret of Monkey Island: Special Edition, which has the original version running in the background at all times, felt a little stilted to me because of how they had to work around the original's timing.

I prefer all my gay-themed video games to be Cheeky.

In regards to what types of bones you should give dogs, stick to raw beef bones. Raw bones, in general, don't splinter but raw bones other than beef bones have a higher potential of getting your dog sick. So...raw beef bones make happy dogs.
