This is an alright game. Just alright. Mallcrashers is easily the worst mission to show off though. It's easily one of the worst missions in the game, lol. I DON'T KNOW WHAT THE FUCK TO DESTROY, THERE IS NOTHING TO DESTROY, DOES SHOOTING THESE T-SHIRTS CAUSE DAMAGE, I DON'T FUCKING KNOW THISISDUMB.

Not gonna watch this 'cause I've put 15 hours into this game and it's flat-out fantastic. Not in the mood to listen to Jeff shit on it.

Felt the need to at least say that I'm enjoying the game a lot. I've put in over 30 hours into the game so far and still finding new things to do with my group of friends. Mallcrasher is probably the worst mission to pick if you want to give an example of how it plays. It's a pretty poor mission but once you understand it, it's easy. And sorry, it's not a single player game. It's best played with friends in co-op. The AI of the friendly AI does suck but that shouldn't be a deterrent. With the way you need to communicate and coordinate sections, there would be no way to design proper AI to function like you would need to.

Payday 2 is much better than Payday 1.

Like someone else said before, Jeff doesn't really like Left 4 Dead and this is basically Left 4 Dead with cops instead of zombies, but it's much more complex than that if you try to stealth your way around the missions. There is a little learning curve, but once you get around it, the "payoff" is great. To be honest I hardly have to shoot anyone anymore.

one example is that Jeff says once the white ring around your health is gone you are down and if your health is down your are dead, thats not correct.

I'd like to play this with people who don't really know what they're doing, but have stealthy intentions. Also, if they take their time and don't mind when things go wrong.

Guys, if you liked L4D, or like coop in general, just buy it, you won't regret it.

The only thing you don't want to do is depend on pubs with this game, buy it only if you have three other "cooperative" friends.

It's a fantastic game and I'm glad the devs are profitable just with the beta and preorders.

Hopefully it gets a versus mode as DLC.

I don't know. This seems like a game made by Heat fans who don't understand why Heat was so awesome. Killing this many cops is just stupid.

This game is amazingly fun. If it isn't Jeff's cup of tea that's fine but don't let his negative attitude make you think that this game isn't boss.

Also while you do need to play this online to get anything out of it, I've had very few lobbies as uncooperative as Jeff has said in my 40+ hours with the game.

This is a lot of fun once you get to know how the missions are structured and how people play. Stuff like moving the bags in stages to be more efficient and what not. This is a game that takes some time to get used to, the rhythms and pace are acquired after a few hours. And yeah don't play it offline, its not worth it, unless you just wanna get a feel for the levels.

Then don't play it that way. There are ways to play this that don't just end up in gun fights through being methodical and planning things out and working with a coordinated team. Jeff doesn't like games like this and L4D because they required being coordinated with a close group of friends. Getting into a random match and no one is talking or taking the lead isn't the best.

No, this is not supposed to be played single player. If you don't like coop, it's not for you.

Obviously Vinny's just going stream of consciousness/trying to talk about something interesting for the Quick Look, but I don't really have any issue with the whole shooting cops thing in this setting. Mostly just because it's a videogame. I get where he's coming from, but I think it'd be silly if it became an issue.

@whatisdelicious: The thing is this game does actually get most of the heat aspect right in a lot of ways when played with co-operation and a team with a head on their shoulders. I mean most of the missions can be stealthed and run through without much to any bloodshed, the mission "mallcrashers" featured early in the quicklook can be done so fast you can leave in the van you arrived in before much gun-fighting takes place. But when you screw up it turns into a gun battle much like Heat and the infamous street shoot out. This quick look is not a very good look at the game in my opinion for a few reasons such as not running with a decent crew, a very bad look at the skills and the weapons from a very early leveled character in the game, and also the way only all out showdowns with the cops are shown and no stealth was attempted.

The game has plenty of faults, the Quicklook was fine, not the best game ever but not the worst. Jeff admits it's not his kind of game but it's good if your into that L4D style.

Which is all you are gonna get. It's fairly annoying really.

Jeff, me and everyone else would understand and have much more fun if it forced you into a tutorial walking you into all the cool features this game has. There is much more to this game than meets the eye but none of it is obvious or easily figured out. Never thought i'd be one to ask for hand holding :P

Yeah the mall mission doesn't make sense. If scores of cops and shoppers are killed at a mall..... that mall ain't staying in business, and the 50,000 dollars worth of damage is meaningless.

This game is great if you play it with 3 friends. It's downright awful as a single player experience, the friendly AI is absolutely abysmal. Playing it online with randoms is very hit and miss, but I've generally have a bad time playing it that way. Most people do not seem to get the concept of co-operation, even in a game like this.

I'm of the mind that you shouldn't buy this game if you do not plan on playing it with people you know.

I wouldn't let it bug you too much...I like to think of Jeff as my favourite critic that I rarely agree with.

Before they quicklook stuff they should at least spend some time with it and gain and understanding of the game. I bet Jeff has only played 1 or 2 levels before this. They should have done 1 multistage mission for this quick look such as Rats and Framing Frame. Stealing paintings in a museum, trading it for cash, then finding laptops, cellphones and external hard drives to open a private gold vault would show off Payday 2 so much better.

My dad was one of those cops.... Good job, Jeff! Ruined all of my future Christmases!

Too be fair, Jeff shits on all the things that you can clearly see are shit in the Quicklook. And mentions that the community act like a bunch of wankers while playing which has been my experience with Payday 2.

Really enjoying Payday 2. The fun comes in trying to coordinate the heists, so I really recommend you play it with friends.

I knew this would be a less than stellar quick look. The game has plenty of flaws, but I'm still enjoying my time with it.

No i don't think so, it's billed as a co-op game and i think showing off the bot mode is kind of a disservice to the game. I just want to see how it plays with other people like it is supposed to be played honestly.

*edit* After watching i could see this game being extremely fun if you can get a crew of friends together to play it. The bots and playing with randoms seem exceptionally bad though. Games like this depend largely on the community unless you have your own crew, and this community seems pretty bad from what jeff said.

Jeff really shouldn't be the person Quick Looking or Reviewing coop games like this.

He started this video with a level 2 character, I know he played the beta, but he couldn't even show or explain the later abilities and mechanics. He wasn't even aware of the dynamic elements in the maps.

Just a low effort QL.

@owl_face: Yeah, but everything I've seen or heard about this game makes it seem like it's super easy to screw up and have the cops all rush you, which is crazy to me. There's no middle ground here, just zero cops or ALL OF THE COPS. In Heat, you didn't have these crazy standoffs. Even that big shootout was nothing compared to this, and yet half the guys ended up dead anyway. That was the whole point of that shootout.

I don't know. I want a real heist game, not a heist-flavored L4D mod. I played the first Payday some and that was my experience and it seems like they've made some good steps here to make it something a little closer to what I would want, but it's still not there.
