Any video I've ever watched of xbox live chat is like 80% little kids and now the first game they get into has what sounds like a 10 year old in it. Ahh, xbox, never change.

I really hope that isn't the case. It's been available on Origin for a good long while for pre-order, sitting with a "Spring 2014" release date. I thought it would be the same release date as the console version, but that doesn't seem to be the case.

For that matter they've rather quiet on talking about the eventual PC version for PvZ 2.

EA's servers are busted. The 2013 trend continues.

Mass Effect 3 multiplayer still has players, at least on PC, and it's currently $10 on Origin. Just throwing that out there.

30 seconds in and I'm already uncomfortablated by this display.

While watching this quick look I had to take a moment to internalize just what exactly I was seeing on my computer screen.

Most Unnecessary Game of 2014

Seemed like all three of them were being sort of hard on this game, and I don't even care about PvZ. It's been getting pretty good reviews all around, the visuals seemed nice, and the gameplay seemed perfectly competent.

$40 is a bit steep, but then, if you're looking for a next-gen game, the pickings are slim right now.

hey guys, I like the new format with the quick looks. maybe you've been recording all your quick looks on this set the whole time and I just didn't know it but for some reason I always imagined you huddled around a small TV in a really confined room.

This is 30 bucks on 360 XBLA right now, will probably pick it up at some point.

I'm not seeing why they felt the need to make this game. Why not include a mode like this (2D of course) in Plants vs Zombies 2? Garden Warefare seems like a game meant to be forgotten in a couple of months.

It's funny to hear Jeff complain about the class unlocks being tied to specific gameplay feats you have to perform. He would've hated TF2 back when you had to complete all the achievements for a class to unlock their alternate weapons.

for all those doubters, don't worry about the GB crew making their usual jaded comments. this is a fantastic game, and a great diversion from the usual brown and gray shooters out there. I just wish it was easier to play as a team though.

I've been playing the $30 XBOX 360 version. It looks pretty much the same.

Much talk of how the price maybe is too high to begin with without any singleplayer? What do they think about Titanfall?

"The DLC is buy the ability to buy the abilities." That concept made me feel so icky.

Wait, this came to 360 too? Why are you guys bummed that its not on PC yet. Even if you're a huge PC-phile you should just get this on 360, and there is no excuse for not having a 360 at this point. Unless you sold it to pay for a PS4 but I don't see the point in that because that would barely make a dent in the price of a next-gen console.

I feel like it really depends on the game. People were perfectly happy paying for multiplayer only PC games like BF and to this day, no one really wants a single player campaign outside of the Bad Company series. When it comes to Titanfall, I'm not even sure how that works. From what I've gathered, the only stuff they've shown off so far is the competitive multiplayer while the campaign has something to do with giant monsters.

After watching an hour of this I just can't imagine there were never plans for microtransactions in this game. Who would set up a shooter like this if they weren't planning on selling you coins or at least currency boosters? I just can't imagine professional game designers sitting down and deciding that this upgrade system would be the most enjoyable for players. There has to be some sort of plan for microtransactions. I just seriously don't get why they would make it like this without them. It was kind of the same after seeing the Titanfall cards. I really get the feeling that Jeff or whoever said it was right that these games were planned with microtransactions in mind and they were then removed after the massive backlash with the XBone launch games.

Also, I seriously don't understand why EA insists on using its own servers. Microsoft has free high quality servers that any developer can use. Why would a company want to spend the money on its own servers if they could use someone else's superior servers for free? I don't get EA at all right now.

I'd actually consider playing this for a bit if it was between 15-20 bucks. I've enjoyed PvZ enough to have the somewhat lackluster yet intriguing mechanics give me some sort of joy when it's paired with the aesthetics. The high price point definitely reeks of cash-in hard at first, and cash-in even harder when it goes free-to-play. Quite a shame actually. I just can't seem to get past what else I could do with $40 :-/

For Titanfall, I think it will depend on how much else there is in the game that wasn't in the beta to see if it's worth it. I don't think a single-player mode adds that much value (considering most people who play these games don't give a damn about them) so it'll likely depend on how many modes and maps there are. Of course if you really like the gameplay in a game then that could also help justify a higher price.

It's funny people say "hurr durr people were happy to pay for MP only BF" when BF2 and BF2142 were the MP only ones.

Titanfall "singleplayer" is cutscenes and speeches added to online matches (dev confirmed), instead of starting just another match of online it's "secure this area, space-Lopez get on the space-.50cal".

The monsters are nothing but skybox material that will not come into play ever (developer confirmed, neogaf ignores that and continues fapping about imagining raidbossy encounters mid-match)

Looking at this game makes me happy against my will. Make it go away.

After listening to the podcast and Jeff's comparison to ME3. Is it just me or is the kill feed the same font and the horde mode in ME3?

Edit: in hindsight I realise this is an EA title and I believe Battlefield has a similar thing.

I'm convinced that EA has this mental blockage that prevents them from making something that's not a first person shooter. At least kids finally have a third person shooter? It seems at least complex enough for people to really get into it, but it looks like the people who would play this would never play anything like this.

There are a couple of things I really like about this game since I have a young child. 1) He's not watching people get blown up and 2) the Smart Screen stuff on the Xbox One is great for him since he can play along and collect sun/fire abilities without needing to learn the FPS controls.

Man, I was really interested in this when they announced @E3 last year but after watching this I really can't imagine buying it ever, much less for $40. I thought I wanted this but I guess I just want a straight sequel to PvZ that isn't garbage.

Frank Underwood was not using a Move controller when he attempted to play God of War 3. There's ton of Sony game marketing in that series. In season 1 he was playing Killzone 3 a few times and there's a small exchange about a PS Vita as well. Season only had him try to play the newest God of War but he was using a DualShock 3.
