Anyway, yeah, RE5 looks sharp on PC. Those are a lot of crazy settings you can tweak with.

It's only cheating if you're playing versus a controller. As long as everybody is on an even playing field, all is fair.

Capcom still need to work on the mouse and keyboard :\ looks like it controls like crap.

That was a very sad Quick Look.... Sure, it was a nice PC/Console tech demo, or whatever you want to call it -- but as a quick look, rather sad.

Wow, looks like you guys build a power house of a PC.

Oh man, you 2 (Vinny & Brad) are completely lost when it comes to PC set-ups.
 
60 lock doesn't mean your getting 60 fps all the time, you have to have FRAPS (just download the trial version) on in order to show you your true frame rates.
 I don't want to make fun bc I respect Vinny a WHOLE LOT & you Bradley but jeez :D I couldn't stop laughing. 
 
It wouldn't hurt to get a Cooler Master V8 or Thermalright Ultra 120 or Tuniq Tower 120 heatsink and O'C your core i7-920 from 2.66ghz to ~3.2ghz.  That's an ~600 mhz overclock which should be very easily achievable with any of the mentioned ~$60 dollar heatsinks.  That ~$60 heatsink will make a night and day difference for the performance of all your applications.
 
 
Guys you shoulda made video towards the community about what parts to buy to make the ultimate sub ~1500 P.C. 

 thanks giant bomb, its about time somebody in the media even mention that the PC exists. Hope you guys do a lot more coverage on PC. Cant wait to see a Dragon Age QL.
 
Also, brad you don't need to use the quick turn on a PC. You just turn around and look, its not like on a console where it takes a good 2-3 months to turn around and aim your next shot. Hopefully with continued use and coverage of PC games these guys will be able to unlearn all the dumbed down game play mechanics that have been burnt into the way they play because of consoles. Sadly i get the feeling they will just stop covering PC games in a month or two, and go back to what every other god dam website is doing, pretend the PC doesn't exists.

Enjoying the PC coverage, but Resident Evil 5 still stands as my most disappointing game of 2009.

What a waste, they could change their AA to 4x and get more frames out of that thing.

You guys had V-sync on and the refresh rate was at 60hz. Therefore, when you unlocked the frame rate setting, you were still running at 60 fps.

god brad annoys me. he just seems like such an idiot when it comes to games. As in no common sense.
The reason they didn't notice an increase in frames when they were trying to "unlock" the fps is because they left vsync on... but turning it off might have messed up their recording software, so who knows.

use FRAPS next time, its free and you guys can show the world how many FPS you have at any given time! good video, i like that you play with the Textures, thats what PC quick look is all about!

This might be one reason there are less PC quick looks. Everyone here keeps saying polarizing things about it. For example, "Thanks for mentioning PC exists" or "You guys just don't understand specs." Consoles are less expensive and easier to manage than a computer with different, expensive video cards, shitty Windows XP, and other little knick picky things like that. The average consumer prefers ease which is what makes consoles so much more popular. Also you don't get as many pricks in the comments. Want proof? Look at the comments for all the other Quick Looks. "
