yeah when you can stand next to that many enemies and outwit them by, MOVING its not a good sign. I really don't get how this game gets so much credit. I couldn't complete the game because I simply got SICK of the amazingly bad controls. Great game if it wasn't for the Embarassing acting and story shoddy AI and next o unplayable controls.

Am I the only one getting a low framerate? Is that the recording software?

With your rig, you could easily get 60 fps in 1080p. I did in the benchmark with a weaker system.  (oh... forgot about video feed recording limitations)
 
I would assume the mouse has acceleration/smoothing issues since it looks like it doesn't stop on a dime. That comes from the devs using the analog stick movement ramp with the mouse. A common feature in poor ports. I use my controller on PC with multiplatform games more than I use mouse because of this.
 
For vertical sync issues in direct x, grab a copy of D3DOverrider (part of RivaTuner). It's solely for enabling triple-buffering and forcing v-sync in games or apps that just don't want to synchronize, regardless of setting. The setting for this in Nvidia's Forceware only applies to OpenGL, hence the need for this app.

Loving the PC coverage.

Unlocking the framerate will allow the game to crank out more frames, but if your monitor runs at 60hz the maximum actual framerate you will ever see is 60hz. Unlocking the framerate could actually degrade the quality by introducing tearing, since the game is no longer synchronised to the monitor refresh rate. That option is pretty pointless.

Damn Brad, why would you need quick-turn when you have a mouse on high-sensativity. That's like quick-turn on Left 4 Dead 360 version, you don't use it on PC because you have a mouse.

You look at the screen and notice the V prompt to heal Sheva, Brad. And you can simply press C to quick turn at any time (although with a mouse you can probably turn around with that faster anyway).
 
A nice glimpse at the PC version. Capcom's definitely doing a good job with the PC version, a lot better job than most other developers porting games from console to PC.
 
I'm really curious what the top option is on the "keyboard/mouse settings", it defaulted to mouse look with the text: "A traditional control scheme for players used to third-person shooters.". I hope the other choices are more similar to type a from the console versions as that what I'm most used to, being able to aim Lost Planet-style with the crosshair not being stuck in the middle would be neat too.

Just tested out the benchmark on my PC and it does looks significantly better than the 360 version. Not only does the game look much sharper at 1920x1200 but the lighting effects are definitely superior (I was running the DX10 version, haven't run the DX9 version yet) with pretty decent frame rates (averaged in the mid fifties on an overclocked GTX 280 with 16xCSAA). The difference really is almost like night and day.

YAY PC game are making a stand here on GB. A good quick look guys well done.

How is it "cheating" when the game is designed with a keyboard and mouse in mind? I would agree that RE5 was designed originally designed as a console game with the limitations of the gamepad controls in mind thus using the mouse and keyboard takes some challenge out of the game, but it's still not "cheating." To say that the mouse and keyboard is "cheating" for any shooter is just plain ignorance. Is it also "cheating" to play a racing game with a steering wheel or a flight sim with a joystick instead of the standard gamepad? "

RE4 was so bad on the PC but this actually looks good, I am very happy with Capcom
