@Morningstar: I was replaying that game yesterday. That game is so much fun if you're doing well. Jumping around doing ridiculous flips and shit on a giant floating steampunk god robot. It's certainly unique.

Despite the lack of a memorable, moody and atmosphere opening that Gemini Rue had, they did a great job building the tension for the monster scenario and the whole shifting between characters at different times seems like a unique, interesting concept.

This might not be Gemini Rue 2, but I'm almost just as intrigued by this as I was Gemini Rue, so I think I'm going to the Wadjet Eye website now to pick this up!

With my low volume setup, there were times on the phone where the blonde character sounded a lot like Drew to me.

Ah I thought that was Logan, I wonder if they thought that at all...I was getting Bastion flashbacks.

From the Wadjet Eye website (and, indeed, is mentioned in the quick look itself):

"A note about Steam. Due to technical reasons beyond our control, the game will be unavailable to purchase on Steam until July 25th. So if you want to play on Steam, you've still come to the right place!"

It's also available on GOG, though without the Steam activation code.

I wonder if this game has a cliched plot and an embarrassingly named main character like Gemini Rue! Let's find out!

They're actually made using AGS which until recently was closed-source and Windows only. It's reportedly been open-sourced now. I hope they get someone to port it to because limiting themselves to Windows only is crazy. CRAZY.

Went to their site hoping to take this with me on my next business trip, case in point, but of course I have a MBP so....

Awesome. I love when Vinny quick looks these Wadjet games.

Anyway, this game looks fucking awesome. It looks like it has a real Snatcher vibe to it, and I love me some Snatcher.

Very cool QL! But damn is this indicative of how much I can hate adventure game mechanics. Nooo, nooooo don't give me the fucking mirror piece for the newspaper after I figured out I needed the bricks to get the car mirror. Let me fumble around in your shitty inventory some more before I can progress in the fashion I understood a good while ago. And that is the extend of the gameplay. There are some fun moments but I'd never be able to get over these peculiar game design decfisions personally.

That old adventure game charm and style is always nice to see.

Why do adventure games seem to insist on having such slow animation for everything? I feel like so few of them "feel" quick and peppy.

So played this for a while now and so far loving it. Classic adventure game, which means you really have to think for yourself. A few hurdles already but easily solvable when you think about them.
