Never ceases to amaze me how many people will damn a game before it's been released. It looks like it could be promising, but there are definitely some areas to improve. These guys seem excited about the game, and hopefully they'll use that reverence for the material wisely.  Since they really want players to become invested in the characters, I hope that they'll smooth out the animations of both the people and the dinosaurs before release. The hitch that occurs when the game switches from scene to scene definitely needs to be smoothed out too.

Telltale hasn't disappointed me yet, so I'm going to have a little faith here. Looking forward to the inevitable, regular Quick Look of this.

I was going to say the exact same thing. "
Yeah, who'd have thought a small indie developer can't release a download title on the same level of quality as a multi-million dollar full release title backed by Sony?  Lol. "
It's their own fault for making it so similar. People are naturally going to compare the two.

Horrible, way to shit on the license. Hopefully the animations, sounds, gfx, pretty much everything are at an alpha level.

This interface they're using seems to be pretty cool. The faces could use a little extra animation, I guess, as it's looking very uncanny. Still, can't wait to play it.

So I am just looking at this and thinking "This is not a game I would enjoy".

They took out walking but you still get 5 seconds of seeing your character walk over... that would just frustrate me.
You basically just press buttons.
The face animations look like shit at this point.

Plus I will admit I always though jurassic park was kinda stupid... so that doesn't help.

This is not my game... but even if you are into pressing buttons and jurassic park this game looks bad as far as I can tell.

Hopefully Walking Dead is cool because so far the movie licenses they've chosen couldn't interest me in the least.  I could care less about Back to the Future or Jurassic Park (yeah, sue me).  Here's hoping this is good experience for a bigger telltale once they make more games I'm interested in.

I have no idea why I wrote this comment.

I hope they iron out the lack of fluidity in the action moments. The 'pauses' between QTE shots and cinematic shots were really noticeable and took me out of the moment. Games that rely heavily on this kind of QTE gameplay should, at minimum, feel like fluid experiences.

Some of these comments are just plain weird and silly.

Especially given the context that this is a downloadable episodic game.
The production values for TellTale games are always low, and stylized for a reason. They need to make games that work over a large swath of hardware. They work with a developer suite of tools that allows them to make content within a very short period of time. They can record and build scenes within hours, allowing them to actually make episodic content.

Comparison's to Heavy Rain's mechanics? Allowable and understandable.
Comparison's to Heavy Rain's production values? Why? O_o???
That's like comparing -insert indie game here- against -insert multimillion dollar gamehere-. It doesn't add up.

Fact of the matter is: Telltale hasn't screwed up with a license yet. They are beyond respectful to the source material of what they adapt.
There are legitimate concerns to be had. Will there be walking? How much streamlined gameplay will detract from the actual game? Is what's being put into place from a design standpoint, a good counterbalance to what adventure gamers know and like?

Focusing all attention on the game's visuals?
Uh...yeah.

Telltale is very clever and reliable, and I know as a small developer they have a limited budget, but they should really invest more into animation. The story and characters are great, but the jarring animation really takes you out of it.

I'll probably buy it because I am a big fan of things that involve dinosaurs in any way, shape, or form.

Edit: After actually watching the Quick Look I have decided that if Telltale supplies the dinosaurs I will supply my money.

@mewstu:  They might work out some of the rough edges, but look at Telltale's whole catalog. Their animations have always been janky, and based on what they have so far and the April release window, this game isn't going to look much better.

After reading 7 pages of hate I had to watch the video again to see if I missed something. I didn't. What is with all the hate?

@Darknaut and @vidiot   pretty much took the words out of my mouth.

Telltale rebuilt adventure games from the ground back up to a genre that sells and continues to shine. With JP they realized this was a more action focused property and made the intelligent decision to bring in some Quantic Dream ideas that allowed them to add more player involvement. Based on this video they seem to be learning quickly and hopefully they'll be able to take this experience even further.

Sure there are some hitches during transitions but this game is more than a month off. Remember, this is a downloadable game. There is no "gold", no pressing, no packaging, no shipping to retailer. There is plenty of time to polish and release a product up to the standards Telltale has set so far.

Can you tell I'm excited?

Looks like fun, my only gripes are the animations as well as facial aren't convincing enough and the action kept pausing after each button press, I would have liked it to be smooth.

@Romination:  Really? I haven't played it myself, but watched a friend for a few minutes and saw the quick look they put up. All the facial animation looked really disjointed and even simple things like walking were (was?) awkward.

I know it's not the biggest thing in the world, and they can't be expected to spend too much on it, but I think getting things to look smooth would good a long way it such story/character focused experiences.

Love how immediately after they say they're using mo-cap the girl gives a facial animation that looks like it's straight out of Gary's Mod. And everything just has so many goddamn pauses in it, it totally kills the flow. Hopefully Telltale is up for a more dramatic storyline, I haven't played any of the CSI games so I've never seen them try their hand at that.
