Samurai Showdown hasn't had a good game since 2.

Easter Quick Look!

This game takes the exact opposite approach of most games today. Instead of hiding their design flaws with horrible lens flare and glow effects, they just make it dark. Hey, at least they get points for originality.

Man, SNK used to be cool. What happened? KoF XIII is looking surprisingly good though...

I think Jeff was the wrong one to demo this, but I won't argue there's much room for a game like this in a Soul Calibur world.

SO can we expect a review soon?

I get what you're saying, but at the same time QLs aren't supposed to be measured analyses of the games. They're supposed to be the GB squad's initial reaction, and a chance to show you the game so you can make up your own mind.

Also, changing Samurai Shodown into a 3d/2d hybrid fighter is probably one  of the most stupid ideas ever. If you've never played SS you probably don't care, but this isn't all the way Soul Calibur, or all the way 2d arcade action, and that seems weak.

Yeah I noticed that too. Not that I'm saying this is a good game, it's probably not, but Jeff comes across as a whiny kid at points. Ryan: "Who would you recommend this game for?" Jeff: "No one. Dads and moms?" Jeff is just too opinionated sometimes. It's cool if you don't like a game, but stop spazzing out and explain. "

I think Jeff needs to go back and play any one of the sam sho games on neo geo, they are slow placed, deliberate games, they are not soul calibur or street fighter in their pacing.  Sounds like you have been away from them for too long and just have good memories of sam sho 2. Oh and maybe not crying like a school girl while doing QL's, that might be a nice change of pace. Instead of the good natured QL's , we now get sighs and groans... makes for compelling viewing.

Looks terrible, but as a person who buys pretty much
every fighting game....  I know I'm gonna' buy it eventually.
Hopefully it'll be cheaper than $50 someday.

I have to agree with Jeff on this fighter. While I disagree with him on Blazblue and Tatsunoko vs. Capcom: Ultimate All Stars, this Samurai Shodown is not good. It does not have the complexity and hard hitting fights from the original.

I'm going to stick with Street Fighter.

Hmm, I'm still not quite sure how Jeff feels about this game, But If I had to guess, I'd say he kinda didn't like it.

I am READY for a Sunday Quick Look.
