This looks like the worst thing. Wii graphics, slow motion, no real tricks and a depressing as hell story line. Man, I remember Tony Hawk. He'd have never done this.

Jeff, you're giving these guys too much credit.  This seems like it had in-game ads in mind from the start.

i couldn't quite fix why this "colouring the world by doing stuff" felt so familiar to me... then I remembered Flower and was like ahhhhh I see.

I don't mind the stride or wendy's thing, I think it's a good game and it shouldn't be hated for that.

After seeing stuff about this from E3 I was kind of stoked, what with the rail bending stuff. Now? Not so much. I'm not bothered by the ad stuff, as long as it isn't interrupting gameplay, it's more that the skating seems really slow and not particularly exciting.
 
Odd how I was actually chewing a piece of Stride gum when I clicked on this video, which I nearly spit out while laughing at the "I got into Master White's brownies." Also, a Frosty can and will bring life to the city. I didn't even know there was any other kind than the regular chocolate-esque Frosty until it was brought up here.

Not the most pressing issue with the game but I can't help but feel their scale for metres is off...

I think I'm done with skating games.

I'm not usually bothered by ad stuff, but the fact that a game with this premise has lots of it is really funny.

I will tell you one thing, This game is better than Tony Hawk's ST-RIDE.

The freeform creation is really cool. I hope that towards the end you have much more creation "meter" so as to grind throughout the city in one go. I might give this a shot some day.

Did some digging and found Stride gum is made by Cadbury, which in turn was bought by Kraft Foods this year.  Nothing says down with the man like plastering the city with processed food ads from the second largest industrial food maker in the world!

Well, watching this quicklook really drove the last nail in the coffin of me not wanting this game.

Fuck the subliminal messaging in this game, i.e the Green arrow u skate on = Stick of stride gum or font of stride logo.

They share your distaste for the man! And your taste for long-lasting flavor!
Actually, I got ticketed in a no-chewing zone once. Those Ministry dudes don't play!

That game is way too slow.

The skating seems average, and the concept is just fucked. You're fighting the man, by putting up ads for big companies? I don't even. 
 
Pass, I'll stick with skate.  
 
Soundtrack seems fine though.

This actually looks decent to me, except the blatant 'fight the man with commercialism' is kinda...well, yeah offputting.

Hating on advertising is so 1990s, now that Mad Men is popular people love adverts. Just think, Don Draper probably pitched that Stride billboard himself.

This just makes me want a new, proper SSX game :(

I think this game is an ode to braveheart. When Wallace is being hung, drawn and quartered and shouts the immortal line "STRIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIDE!!!!". Makes me well up to this day.

The second I heard Wendy's I literally went out and got some for the first time in what must be over a year. Product placement works! Mmmmm
