Thought this was gonna be a Hellraiser QL for a second.

Huh, I wasn't expecting this, not after the (lengthy) look at it in Spookin'. Then again, I forget sometimes that features like that are Premium only.

EDIT: Guess it IS the stuff from Spookin. Interesting.

Since watching this originally on Spookin' With Scoops, I've become oddly intrigued by this game. I've never played a Silent Hill game before and now I think I might try this one out in the future.

This was fun to watch but terrifying at the same time. I wonder if Patrick reacts this way at horror movies in the theaters?

@patrickklepek: By now, I think Spookin' With Scoops is my favourite piece of content on the site. This installment was incredible, though a lot of that praise admittedly goes indirectly to P.T, and I hope we'll get plenty more in the near future.

From the gamescom interview, it does seem like Kojima himself is heavily involved in this particular title. I feel like we've seen so many classical horror tropes in the MGS series (Cyborg Ninja in MGS 1 was disturbing as hell,Vamp in MGS 2 was straight out of a horror movie, The Fear and The Sorrow in MGS 3, etc.) that perhaps he really is well-suited for this genre. If this little "teaser" is any indication, he sure is.

Man, other than the (deliberately) obscure puzzles, I am just in awe of this little teaser. It's probably some of the most expertly crafted horror I've seen in a long time. Amazing stuff. If the full game can approach this level, then consider me hyped, although I fear I might become a babbling, incoherent mess after playing it.

Also, @patrickklepek at around 15:30 I think your monitor shut off at the same time you zoomed into the bathroom? That's kind of a shame, because that little jump scare got me really fucking good after I sat there for like 20 minutes wandering around, trying to figure out what to do and finally zooming into the crack in the door. I screamed. Loudly.

It's pretty crazy though, I saw multiple encounters in this quick look that I didn't even notice or perhaps simply didn't happen when I played. Never saw the tall dude around the corner, never noticed the woman standing at the banister, didn't even see the crazy twitching ghost towards the end. Gonna have to go back and play it again, with a fresh change of pants like Kojima suggested.

Patrick didn't seem all that excited when I tweeted him about this game and playing it on the upcoming Morpheus headset. I think I'll let Patrick take the bullet on these games, as for me I'm all about the NOPE! Not Gonna Happen!

P.T is the game it was announced as....before it turned out to be Silent Hills which was revealed after you finish it.

All I did was have a headset on, we enter a chat party, stop after entering the room, wait until the clock chimes and then take 10 steps. The baby cries once. Walk around towards the end of the hallways and sit there talking without moving until the second cry (for me this took about 5 min's after searching on what to do next in a forum.. it just happened, and am not sure why) The controller starts rumbling but don't touch it, instead, keep talking until you hear the third cry and the phone ringing, turn around and go back to the phone, and zoom in on it. "You've been chosen"

If this is a playable teaser, does it cost money?

Awesome of you to make this available. Like that other user I very nearly bought premium to see this (and a few other premium things of course) cause everyone was raving about it.

I said it on the live chat and I'll say it again, I loooove Creepy Fetus Horror. Not sure why, but I do.

I can't help but wonder if that's the sort of horror that men and women experience differently. Then again, context helps. It's the Sink Baby in P.T. vs. Eating The Fetus of God in Silent Hill 3. I'd say one of those is a much different experience if you actually possess the biology necessary to become pregnant. Just thinking out loud, here!

Regardless, what I'm trying to say is that I'm pumped for this game so far, at least from a visual and thematic standpoint. Symbolism is such a cool part of Silent Hill, and nothing recent from the series has been able to reach how much I enjoyed 2 and 3's. I have high hopes!

I think I would literally have a heart attack playing this with VR.

I like the idea of playable teasers, giving users a sense for the graphics and the atmosphere. It sort of faulted however in the way it didn't tell you what you could do (I hit all the buttons and never would've guessed I'd have to hold R3 to stare at shit.) When you're not sure what to do, it also gets boring which is fatal for a horror game. Again though, it's just a little teaser with no indication of what the game is going to be.

The sink fetus was freaky at first, but since it just chilled there harmlessly for the entire game and occasionally offered you helpful advice, it stopped being scary and started being something I wouldn't mind hanging out with. Like, he could sit on your shoulder and be your side-kick and moral support, and after you take down a boss he can give you a high-five with one of his stubby little limbs.

@landhawk: I'd play that game. It's like Banjo Kazooie, but with Daryl Dixon and a Sink Fetus.

The way the industry currently is with FPS games and cover-based shooters getting released every minute I loving that someone is going to try and make something like this. AAA psychological horror, sign me up...

Only 40 minutes in and I had to stop to comment. I know it's pre-recorded but seriously, c'mon, look at the hole in the wall from the outside of the bathroom and watch the ENTIRE scene. He clearly cut out half way through what was going to probably be the end of the teaser. Going back in now to get frustrated at Patrick not getting it. Let's see if I'm right in the end.
