Alright, I'm kinda mad after watching this.

Monster Hunter - "The whole game takes place in arena like areas, but I like it". Soul Sacrifice - "It's so unlike Monster Hunter - you fight in arenas and I don't like it".

This game is Monster Hunter without all the bullshit and somehow that makes it worse. Wow...

Not so great really. Too bad that Jeff didn't get further in. Playing main story quests (as I heard) is not as challenging as the Avalon Pacts. Hence the button mashing.

also Uwe Boll should make a Wake-Up Club movie that's basically Freaky Friday but it's in 4 hours real-time and ends with excessive breakfast jokes.

They play the female and male narrator voices at the same time, male's is just deeper so it's more readily audible. Like the bass voice in a choir.

Quality seems pretty nice, only major issue I noticed was the scanlines when the pages were flipping.

Also worth noting you can mash like he's doing for very long. Enemies will break your chain, often times you'll attack a few time and then hold to knock an enemy off balance. Or just hold if you're in danger of being attacked. One of my favorite elements is balancing the more powerful attacks against damage of being attacked.

Well for being a big Sony exclusive I can't say that was too impressive. Does it at least look better on an actual Vita?

I've been looking for another game to play for my Vita, and this looks alright.

@raven10: Think it looks pretty great on the system itself, great background details and the animations for the enemies are surpurb. Main issue is some of the environments the deserts ones mostly are a bit barren in comparison. Some of the ground textures can take a few seconds to load in as well, leaving them pixelated. Otherwise it looks good to great most of the time!

Regarding the evil/good levels, I believe they're capped at a combined 99 levels, so you can't simply max out both. Also, the point of sacrificing a player is that it launches an extremely powerful attack, so it's a key mechanic in multiplayer.

If patrick has played the game already why do a quick-look with him?

The combat is a lot more involved than Jeff makes it seems. Elemental systems and you can cause breaks by combining them among other things.

And the sacrifice system is especially interesting online, as if you sacrifice a player they die for the rest of the match and run around as a spirit. Lots of cool things going on, suppose the arena based nature of the levels is a complaint I can understand completely but I haven't minded it so far 15 hours in.

This game looks very nice for a Vita game, still not sold on the mission structure though.

Doesn't look that bad. Seems pretty fun.

Is there no trope or concept for the Lavos bucket thing? Where you could go fight the final boss at any point in the story, but you probably won't win because you aren't powerful enough yet? I do like when they set that up for you.

The game seems like it has some really cool concepts going for it but the gameplay doesn't do them justice.

Persona 4 Gold, Soul Sacrifice, Virtues Last Reward are the few games I bought for Vita. I also like watching Netflix on the Vita since the battery last longer then my Galaxy Nexus.

Is that a bit of audio glitching I hear? Wouldn't be that surprising considering the ghetto way you guys are having to capture this but I'm just trying to make sure.

I dunno. Sony made it sound like Vita games would look almost as good as PS3 games and I haven't seen anything even close to that, and if a major Sony exclusive can't even look that good then I have to wonder.

They don't want the resolution to be completely blown out and look like shit, so yes.

@raven10: It's like PSP to PS2. No, PSP games didn't look as good as the late-generation PS2 games that were coming out at the time, but they still looked close. The Vita is never going to look as good as God of War III, but it still looks incredible. Honestly, I've found that the stuff I'm most impressed by are the 2D games with a clean but vibrant art style that benefit from an OLED screen, like Lumines: Electronic Symphony and Guacamelee.

But just because Soul Sacrifice is a "major Sony exclusive" doesn't mean it has an obligation to be some unrealistic graphical powerhouse. It's not even developed by Sony.

I look forward to more Vita Quick Looks. Soul Sacrifice sounded fun but now seeing it in action it just looks boring to me.

Even the passing of four years can't stop the Endurance Run.

sweet, time to get a half hour lesson on monster hunter from patrick....oh no.

I think the combat and missions aren't as involved because it's meant to be actually played on the go as a portable title - in that sense the missions make a lot of sense.

Of course I haven't played it so it's just a theory.
