You need to watch the Quick Look of MH again.

This is very different from MH and that's a good thing.

I realize it's partly because Sony didn't make video-out on the Vita but FINALLY some Vita coverage on this site. Nervous the first few minutes of this are going to be a "Vita has no games and finally got one" kinda thing haha. Let's see how it goes.

and Soul Sacrifice is a game worth buying a Vita for!

I like the look of this game a lot. Really glad that Demon/Dark Souls has brought the kind of gross out monster design that Japan is really good at into their games.

Not bad, good on you Keiji Inafune and his team.

Structurally the game may seem like Monster Hunter, but in terms of gameplay it feels closer to a PSO.

And that was the Jeff & Patrick Soul Sacrifice Endurance Run.

People seem to have really unrealistic expectations for what the Vita can do... That may be a problem from Sony's marketing but still, it's not like this is a bad looking game!

Thinking of picking it up when it's cheaper. Looks interesting and my Vita could use a game for after I (finally) finish P4G.

Watched this Quick Look in HD on my Vita's Youtube app. My white Vita contained a black Vita that was playing Soul Sacrifice.

My Vita now has serious racial identity issues.

I think they have a bad mic for QLs, been several now with distortion and in this one it's pretty clear that it's only patricks voice that triggers it.

So..this game has a talking Necronomicon rip off? Done, i may have to buy a Vita.

Seems very cool, but I can't quite get over the hump of having to get a Vita to play it, and won't be able to convince any of my friends to get Vitas to play it with me either.

Ohh, it's an enduran...oh, wait, never mind.

Co-op this game gets really interesting. The choice of saving/sacrificing teammates during combat can make every difficult encounter feel intense and risky, but you get rewards for BEING sacrificed (Martyr Rewards) so it doesn't always feel like a bum gig if a guy decides killing you is worth the massive damage it does.

Admittedly, the missions (so far) are definitely just "Kill X enemies/this boss," but the co-op angle is what makes it really cool to me. I've played the demo more than most of the games I OWN on my Vita, so I'm really looking forward to finally downloading the full version later today - especially since all my demo stuff carries over.

This game is really very little like monster hunter.

Seems kinda interesting, but once again I wish the entire game would've been in first person just like the "main menu" area. I wonder why japanese games keep doing this? Vanquish did similar stuff with first person cutscenes, but then third person gameplay.

Probably is but I just bought Monaco, Luigi's Mansion, and a bunch of non-gaming related stuff so I'd be going over my gaming budget. Is the DLC/Japanese voiceover stuff not standard or what?

The audio is captured from the Vita's audio output, so that's the part that shouldn't glitch.

Jeff and Vinny are going to do the Persona 4: Golden quick look now, Right? I mean, now that they have the Vita video capturing technology and all that experience with the original Persona 4, I'm very interested in what they have to say about Golden. Also, it would be hell'a entertaining.

Vanquish would not have worked as a FPS at all. You need to be spacially aware while playing that game, to your back and sides, in order to not get caught on obstacles while boosting. I could see Soul Sacrifice as a first person game though. I think they use Third person for RPGs though because of the look of the armors and weapons. Why create all these items and not show em?

Or, how about a P4G Endur- *murdered by assassins*

Looks cool, besides the missions. But it's gotta get more interesting the deeper you go. I'm not saying there should be dialogue puzzles (though that would be neat), but the monsters probably get more complicated and require more thought and prep to kill.

I really want the Vita to succeed. As much as I love the 3DS (and I LOVE it) I don't think I've played a single game on it that wouldn't be better on the Vita.

As it stands there's only 2 or 3 games for the Vita and it costs too much just for them.

It needs an overlay, but I question whether it needs a "virtual vita" overlay. I think the videos would look nicer if they used something more along lines of this...

I see nothing wrong with the missions just being "kill stuff". Not every game has to be super innovative. Seems like it cuts down on a lot of filler content and gets right to the point. That's pretty cool in my book. Monster Hunter should take notes.

Combat looks alright and I don't mind grinding. But some of the voice acting looks a bit shaky.

Let's say we're talking PC style fields of vision here, in the 90-110° range. I doubt you have more spatial awareness in, say Gears of War than in Quake Live. At least for me, the camera and it's generally clunky controls always gets in my way, and of course, the character's back obscuring 30-50% of the screen, just make it harder to see anything in the periphery, and to get a decent sense of the area around you (unless you get those sweeping establishing shots, which are common in third person shooters, but ultimately a way to get around that issue, which I don't think would've been as apparent if it was in a non-cluttered first person perspective). Vanquish's boosting was pretty much the ski mechanics of the Tribes and Heavy Gear series after all - and they were all in first person perspective. If necessary you could always do the ARMA and MechWarrior thing and have separate look and aim, making it possible to track a target while also keeping track of your surroundings.

If they make a Vite Lite and cut the price it might make this thing more appealing.

I haaate the look of this game..and the over wrought emo vibe the whole thing is kind of a turn off.

Yeah looks like there is some interlacing. It's good enough though.

Drastically different, except the fact that they are fundamentally exactly the same, except one has a lot more fluff to it.

Have you played either of these games? They play really differently from each other, I can't see how anyone would compare them.

Yeah it's a supremely excellent play for ten minutes here and there title, and the story has me intrigued. I'm a few hours in.
