Quick Look: The Sims 4

So as a guy with a ponytail, I've been wondering for years now... what exactly is the problem the Giant Bomb duders have with ponytails? Anytime they see a guy with one (in a game, in a press conference, whatever) they always act like the individual is automatically some kind of douchebag. I'm not really offended or anything, but it has always struck me as an incredibly weird thing for them to all collectively hate on.

Because they're assholes

I hope the Sims 5 quick look goes something like this...

Mean> Pick Fight with Fogel.

Mean> Stab Fogel to death

Friendship> Invite friend to assist you in burying Fogel in a field.

Friendship> Swear blood oath to never speak of this again.

No offense to you or anything, but I feel like that is kind of a common reaction to a guy with a ponytail. I'm not saying that its right, but it seems like its just a societal thing.

The next "30 Day Trial" should obviously be Jeff playing The Sims 4.

I have heard barely anything about this game.

As a man whose father was an auto mechanic for many, many years, I am surprised with the response toward Brad's little joke. I thought it was funny. My dad knew a couple of fucking slackers that worked with him in the auto shop. They kinda just did the easier work and they're still doing it to this day just stuck in a rut. I believe that is more what Brad is talking about. The person, not the job.

That said, I thought the quick look was great. And I wish Rorie was in on this one, but the whole Emma Stone thing seemed so unplanned.

It's official. A sim knows more about cooking eggs than Dan.

Fun Quick look. I would like to see Giantbomb East do a second quick look just to have commentary by Vinny and Alex.

And I do not think there is any real hate. It's just goofing around. If I wear just a mustache instead of my beard (with clothes) I look like a genuine pedophile. There is no way around it. Sometimes dudes with ponytails just look a bit skeezy, because it can be a skeezy look.

Ah, the classic Emma-Stone-showed-up-and-I-stink dilemma.

Really the most disappointing part of this Quick Look was the criminal lack of Jeff's incredible Sly Stallone impression.

Thanks for the laughs, this looks surprisingly decent. My big question is whether or not I'd have the time to even spare for it...I'd love a column/review perspective on games for busy motherfuckers with flaky friends

Didn't Sims3 have an open world, a pretty largish city and little load times? Am I remembering incorrectly or did this game take a huge step back?

The reintroducion of loading screens between lots just shows what a step back The Sims 4 really is. The Sims 3 had a big open world; admittedly it ran terribly because of it. Loading screens were the main problem with The Sims 2, at least these seem pretty short. But still, I don't see anything here innovational. The emotion system is good, but it seems purposefully stripped back to cater for the expansions more so than ever.

So who is the greater asshole: Boyle or Fogel? The community NEEDS to know!

Man, I was really hoping Jeff wouldn't be doing this quick look. I know Vinny has some non-work related things to take care of but he would have been perfect for it. I feel like Dan and Brad might have been a good pairing with Brad playing and Dan providing commentary and contributing ideas. I've only watched the first 10 minutes but I have a feeling Jeff is just going to be miserable playing this and it's not going to be nearly as fun to watch as it should be.

I'm actually enjoying the game quite a bit so far. I knew it was going to be a step back from Sims 3 in terms of content simply because that game has tons of expansions out for it, but some of the missing things are surprising (pools, create-a-style.) The disjointed neighborhood is also a little disappointing but I quickly got over that since Sims 3 always ran like complete garbage even on my good pc while Sims 4 has been running great.

Time to watch the rest of the quick look. Hoping for some funny moments in between all of Jeff's groans and unfamiliarity with the games systems (I hope they figure out the action queue quickly because despite Jeff already pointing it out he seems to have forgotten it)

I don't get how the game doesn't support 64-bit in 2014, the extra memory (even full 4 gb instead of 3.5 gb) might've helped the game performance down the expansion/dlc road.

I can only hope that somewhere out there a man named Bob, who changed his last name to pancakes, runs a 24 hour pancake dinner!

They should have just looked at the Quick Look for Sims3 to understand all they need to about the franchise as well as what to do after a couple of days.

I am about to start watching!! Been playing since midnight of release and IT ACTUALLY WORKED RIGHT AT 12:01 A.M. EST

I love the game so far! It reminds me of Sims OG, which I loved! The gameplay is more streamlined and A.I. is much better in most occasions. I like multi tasking and emotions, both add a huge dynamic to the game which was lacking in all previous games! I could go on but I rather watch Jeff tear this game to SHREDSSSS!!!!

1 minute and a half in and bahahahahahahah! This is beautiful! I have a lot of interest in this game but I heard about several annoying things like none of the teen & above characters are different heights so teens and adults are the same height. Very hard to distinguish anyone walking around.

Is Simlish the same as Swedish? I think it is!
