been looking forward to this. Tried to check out a few live streams on twitch but with a game like hte Sims it's hard to check out all the features when streamers are just, you know, playing the game, not deliberately pointing out all the new shit.

Haven't gotten to that part yet, but holy shit, what a jerk.

It could have been any job. He did not say "All car mechanics have no ambition and are pieces of shit". He wanted the guy to be a car mechanic with no ambition.

Also i'm not following up or arguing any further on this. I'll take it for what I heard, I don't fucking hate Brad or anything over it and i'll give him the benefit of the doubt because I would say after years of listening to him talk I have a reasonable good idea of his character.

But it's pretty disappointing. I've come across this attitude a fair bit in the company of middle class Americans, so I'll just chalk it up to falling into that mentality where working hard in any sort of job with physicality and being successful don't equate to the same thing.

I've played every Sims game and I'm just unsure how to react to Sims 4.

I think EA's recent Sims 2 freebie will fill the same urge to play the Sims that this new installment won't.

Honestly it's the balance between a simulation and a silly god game that I like about the Sims. I want more control over the house design, the stuff I buy, and the decisions I make for my Sims but I don't want the door-less death basements to go away.

This seems like an addition to the franchise that wasn't needed. I think a few more years and some better ideas would have benefited the franchise more.

These are always frustrating because my brain thinks I should be able to understand them.

Who has made the Giant Bomb household, and is it downloadable? :)

I dunno guys... every bit about this quick look made me want to buy the game more, despite knowing it's the shell of a vehicle designed to cost hundreds of dollars.

I guess I don't own enough of the DLC for The Sims 3 to make a fair comparison of the evolution of the game over time, but The Sims 4 seems to have made a number of leaps forward (with a number of deep steps back). The problem is that with the past two games of The Sims, I've played the base games for a short time and then just never really come back to it for any significant length of time, most often influenced at least a little by knowing there's a buttload of content I now don't have access to.

Definitely agreed. The rumors that this is the scrapped version of an online game in the vein of Sim City seems increasingly likely; I don't know how you could make a sequel to The Sims 3 and remove its best advances of the genre otherwise. There's nothing else here that justifies another number in the title that I can see.

It's the first Sims game I'm not buying on release myself, and I'm kinda bummed about that.

As much as I love the half-hearted attempt and the comedy that comes with it, I would love to see some masochistic fool (Rorie?) make the Giant Bomb staff in the game and do weekly updates on their weird lives.

I'd do it myself, but... meh.

@finaldasa: Been enjoying the copy of Sims 3 I got with the Origin bundle. Adds most of whats in 4, but keeps the control you had in 2.

I remember back when the Sims was an actual simulation game, and not just an animated dollhouse.

I kind of want to make the Giantbomb duders in Sims 4 and give Dan's Sim the culinary aspiration.

Also Drew would be an astronaut, and now I'm thinking about this way too much...
