@mlarrabee: Yes, shame that Terminal hasn't done all that well in the games being fun for me all that much since Bloodrayne & some of the retail Ghostbusters game. Maybe if they bring some of their older games back instead of making lackluster games like this, Kinect Star Wars & others.

Alex is a real trooper to play these games.

Lost absolute interest in the Walking Dead after season one, guess that goes to show just what a brilliant job Telltale Games did to interest me in the first place.

It's a real shame that titles like this have to mar their reputation. I honestly don't know what happened. I used to know some good people at Terminal Reality back in the BloodRayne days, but now those people have moved on to other developers. I imagine there are still some good folks there, but games like this certainly aren't helping them reclaim any former success.

I was hoping Giantbomb would have started this quicklook in a later level as every video game site had already shown the first 30 minutes. My guess is Patrick & Brad had no intention of ever playing this... which is OKAY considering it's garbage.

What happened to Terminal Reality? Ghostbusters was a great game. Was this the publisher's fault for rushing them, their fault or both?

I find it funny that Patrick states that the show is bad like it's a fact and that the majority of people feel that way

Season 1 was great, season 2 was bad and season 3 is way better than I thought it would be

Game looks like a pile of dogshit though

I can't listen to any movie or series critics. They always give bad advice to me, because they always think everything is crap and I always seem to like everything.

I like The Walking Dead too. Guess I have bad taste or something. But whatever, if you hate everything you'll rarely have fun and I am entertained all the time. I almost feel bad for people on sites like imdb.com where the boards are almost exclusively full of critique and 'this sucks' threads.

So some good talking, but when they're talking from the onset and barely pay attention to the damn game, it's a bit annoying. Or at least try talking more in the down time and not the in between drama or something.

While not saying this is a great game by any stretch of the imagination it doesn't seem like a complete piece of shit. Just seems average. They really went into it with the mindset that it's awful which kinda bothers me. I mean they're barely 10 minutes into the first level and already saying "this isn't very good." I didn't think Tell Tale Walking Dead was very good for the first hour or so either - and in all honesty it didn't get THAT good until the last two chapters for me personally. I guess I always find it weird when they dump on games that are pretty average and point out flaws that many other games have but they find them especially egregious now all of a sudden. Reminds me of the time they Quick Looked Inversion and just kept dumping on it. All of a sudden Jeff and Ryan took this extreme offense at playing another cover based shooter.

Also say what you will about the show the walking dead comics have been solid from day one. Its surprising how it is still a great comic and telltale toke a lot of points from the comics which is why it's so good.

He also kinda threw the comic under the bus. While I agree that the book is not as good as it once was, it is still good, and its not because it has weak characters. In fact, the comic book focuses almost exclusively on character drama, development and relationships. At 108 issues in, the actual zombies play a very small role. I don't like the implication that Telltale invented the concept of focusing on the characters and "tough decisions" rather than the zombies, when that was very clearly taken from the book.

Regarding the show, I can forgive sloppy writing and the show had some great episodes lately. I still enjoy the show a lot but what I still can't get over is that they chose to kill of characters who're suppose to survive and completely change a character's personality. I know that you can't always carry over everything on to the screen but come on, Andrea is a bad ass guncat in the comics, not an naive and easily pursuaded girl.

Patrick and Brad talk too much about the Telltale game and the tv-series when they should just point out the flaws they see and maybe make fun of it to make the video more interesting. The game is boring, yeah, but they ramble too much about everything but the game itself.

The comic peters out because it has bad characters? Are you fucking kidding?

For someone who wants better female characters in games I would have thought Patrick would love TWD because Andrea and Michonne are two of the best female characters I know of in modern entertainment, but it has bad characters? Really...REALLY? Wow, that's some impressively stupid bullshit, Patrick continues to show his impressive journalistic skill.

Personally I feel as though Season 3 has been much better than the weak Season 2.

Did anyone else think the relationship Daryl apparently had with his Dad in this video doesn't fit with what we recently saw in the show? (Merle seeing marks on Daryls back from being beaten and a discussion about them both wanting to leave the home)

Ugh.. what is wrong with people?

It seems like nobody has the ability to pay any attention whatsoever anymore. Watching a TV show with your Ipads and Iphones out, only to occasionally focus on the show.. Why even watch the fucking show in the first place?

I have a friend who does the exact same thing with Walking Dead. I´m sorry, but that´s no way to watch any show, ever. He misses half the stuff that happens and still tries to talk to me about it. It´s extremely frustrating, because he misses a lot of plot points and the conversation boils down to: "So, Andrea kinda sucks, eh?" or something extremely superficial like that.

The game doesn´t look that bad, but at 60 dollars it seems like a joke or something.

I have to add my 2 cents here to the Giantbomb crew on The Walking Dead...if you are coming to the The Walking Dead for the zombies, you are missing the point of The Walking Dead. Zombies are the backdrop to the story. I find that the more any part of The Walking Dead starts to focus on the zombies, the worse it becomes.

That said, as this game seems to focus on combat with the zombies, that is a big part of why it fails. That, along with a host of other reasons.

Jesus Christ, Patrick, just say yes. It's essentially the intro to the tv show. Of course it's not the actual intro.

It's definitely not bad, but it's not great either. For me, it's mostly frustrating. The series has the potential to be really fantastic (perfect examples being the pilot episode, and the episode from two weeks ago) (which was actually written by the guy who's taking over season 4) but it constantly seems to squander that potential with weak character development and poor story focus. Time and time again the only time they'll even focus on most characters is right before they kill them off, as if we're supposed to suddenly care for them. It's just shoddy writing. I mean, the whole Governor/prison arc has been ruined in the show because of it. And don't even get me started on what they've done to Andrea and Tyreese. It's just... blargh. The show could be great, and it occasionally has flashes of it, but right now it isn't.

Fortunately, now that Glen Mazarra's been removed we might (should?) see the quality improve. The new showrunner-to-be seems to understand what the show needs to be about, and how to develop characters in it. Which is always a plus.

Also, whoa, Patrick. Whoa. The comics actually have (mostly) fantastic characters, you definitely shouldn't write it off so quickly. For a horror aficionado like yourself, it's definitely worth catching up with.

It's impossible to EVER know what Patrick is talking about.

The comic book "petered out" because Kirkman "can't write good characters"?

Um... WHAT?!? There's a reason the book is plastered everwhere in every comic book store to Barnes and Nobel. And there's a reason why the book laster for years before the show ever came along. There's a reason why Telltale's game even EXISTS.

The whole POINT of Kirkman's book is that he writes good characters. There's NOTHING ELSE. The book has no overarching plot at all. It's JUST character work.

GEEZ. Patrick gets more and more insufferable every day.

I agree 100%. If they think playing through that game was bad, they should try watching them motor mouth through the game while missing all the objectives and going, "her dur I dunno, this game is kinda bad". Well yeah asshole, you're just running in a circle hitting zombies. Why don't you progress the fucking game while you're at it.

It's that same idiot culture that can't look away from their fucking phone for 2 seconds while watching anything.
