Quick Look: Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine

Aaaaaaaand that's another game on my must buy list for this season.  I'm gonna be so poor but so happy.

Is it wrong that I enjoy watching Quick Looks more than actually playing most of these games?

I really, really, REALLY hope you get to pilot a Dreadnought, though it wouldn't work with the fiction. If that does happen, Vinny needs to record a video of it so we can see his reaction.

Damn, this game looks sharp on the PC. Tempting.

Just finished the game this morning. It was a solidly entertaining way to spend 8 hours

How can Vinnie not know more about Wh40k after all that talk
about reading the books & digging into it?   Did he get past the
first 10 pages of any book?  Best way I think to learn it quick
is get a copy of the original Rogue Trader & just start reading 
that.  I borrowed that from someone & read the whole thing
nearly 20 years ago. Very interesting. Now I just read my 
downloaded copy.
 
Man I think this would have been way better as an RPG.  I 
really hate games that give you thumbstick combinations to
do during a game.  It's tedious to think about & takes away
from the story line, assuming (ass-u-me) that there is supposed
to be a story.

One of funniest QLs in a while. The game even interests me a little.

 "Big dumb fun" from Ryan is right. The "vampire" mecanic with the chainsword is clever.  I do have one annoyance with the game:
 
"Does the (B) button allow me to interact with THIS object?!?!?" Disincentivizing the learning of a smart button-mapping system via constant prompts instead of letting the "(B) button is your interact button" sink in. SMH

I don't like the arbitrary limits with the jetpack (and that there didn't seem to be a player option for when to equip or unequip it, rather it just was removed in a cutscene), and kind of looks like it would've worked better as an FPS, but it does look rather fun.

Vinny couldn't see the red barrels! Fiction-wise, I prefer Warhammer Fantasy, but I know enough about 40k to make this satisfying. I remember the first time I saw a Titan, on the cover of White Dwarf magazine, they are no joke!

The girl voicing the Imperial Guard commander is the chick who does the voice overs in Unreal Tournament, huh?

My favorite Quick Looks are with Ryan and Vinny. Hilarity is sure to ensue.
