Quick Look: Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine

Ahh, but it never changed in that 10,000 years. LOL.  I want Vinny to blog up an essay on 40k readings, see what he thinks of it.  Maybe he would've been better off just thumbing through a Rogue Trader from bit torrent to get a gist?  Note: still need to watch this all the way through.  The antics of Vinny are entertaining.

 I love how dumb this is. Deuterium doesn't "deplete," and it's not very dense. Space Marines!!!!

I do like how the Orks react to the Marines like the grunts in halo do to master chief.

It takes a real man to admit his mistakes.

So the Space Marines aren't as religious as the rest of humanity, because they still remember how the Emperor was trying to advance humanity through science and etc. It is the Inquisition and Ecclesiastes that instill worship and zealotry into humanity. Space Marines just remember the Emperor as the pinnacle of Mankind that all humans should strive for.

Just finished this game, really enjoyed it.

I must admit that it was a bit painful to watch Vinny play the level where they introduce the jet pack. The main point in having the pack is to do attacks from the air. You can pretty much kill everything that moves by just jumping up and then crashing to the ground. Instead Vinny mostly shot the orks and very seldom used the jet pack.

Also on hard difficulty one would get killed if you took openly few shots from the orc snipers. Vinny seemed to use relatively few stuns which are essential in controlling the mobs.

@halfcirclepunch: Nothing is black and white in the 40k universe that is true. But I'm speaking generally. Especially since the Emperor Himself is so frustrated on the Golden Throne about how His Imperium has fallen from His vision, but the only reason He keeps His will to live (aside from the hundreds of psykers who are sacrificed to keep Him alive) is his devotion to Humanity. And how Adeptus Astartes doesn't have a good relationship between the Inquisition and Ecclesiarchy because they don't openly worship the Emperor as a God. Don't patronize me about 40k lore.

Great job with the Quick Looks recently! This and the Dead Island Quick Looks convinced me to buy both games! MOAR DAKKA!

I'm not at all a fan of Warhammer 40K, with the relentlessly bleak tone, the everyone-is-evil factor, and of course the fact that no one ever wins. But this gameplay looks badass enough to make me want to set aside the storyline and just chainsword some fools.

Wow, the animation in this game is REALLY good.

Just bought the game based on this quicklook and Im definetly not dissapointed ! Amazing game and I truly hope it does well enough in sales for it to warrant a sequel. Also, like Vinny I would really like to look in to the 40k books but it sure is hard to find a proper starting point..

badass fucking game

This is probably the best Quick Look I've seen lately.

As for the game itself, it looks awesome, and so damn cheesy, and I mean that in a good way.

I've played this game and also found it insanely stupid how all the orks sound like cockney thugs and never stop shouting 'space marines' in the manner of Bob Hoskins (and I'm British). Watching Vinny and Ryan's review here made me laugh so much!

This video got me to finally subscribe. The whole "SPOYCE MUHRAYNZE" bit had me absolutely dying.

This is really late, but I've burned myself out on the new Diablo expansion and I need to play a new game. I randomly just watched this again and bought it off Amazon. Time to get my SPACE MUHRINES on.
