God, Worms is always incredibly boring.

It takes so long to do anything and the music and dialogue aren't very interesting.

I try to like Worms, but damn.

I kind of wish the worms sounded like the dwarf from Myth: The Fallen Lords. High pitched but not sped up.

This idea simply doesn't work in 3D. It was garbage when they first tried it years ago and still is now.

Why do so many Wii games have terrible fonts on purpose?

I loved Hogs of War! Rik Mayall was great in it, well certainly when you were 10.

I have such fond memories for Worms 1 and Worms 2 on the PC.

If they made a modern military shooter with no worms in it at all and no team-based death match, I wouldn't care, but I also wouldn't expect them to call it a Worms game.

Yeah, this does look pretty rough. I would stick with Worms: Armageddon.

Which is the way to go if the voices are an issue, since you can put in voices yourself. Remember I had a pretty good Johnny Bravo one. Oh, Mama!

This is EXACTLY the same game as Worms 4: Mayhem. In fact, it's just a re-release, except downloadable. The only difference is, it now has voice acting during the cutscenes, whereas before, the worms would just talk in "Me,me,me" language. Originally, this was released after Worms 3D and Worms Forts: Under Siege on the PS2 and Xbox.

Not trying to defend the game or anything, it really doesn't look very good, but must they always be SO bad at figuring basic gameplay stuff?
 
I mean there's a perfectly functioning minimap on the upper left portion of the screen yet he haves a real hard time finding enemy worms... and it's right there on his face.

This looks like the worst project; I'm so sorry for all the hard-working programmers and designers who spent the time to realize this clearly flawed game concept. The most confusing perspective is not the camera's, but of the management who lead a development team to create this mess.

I can't believe how bad Ryan is at this game. I loved the original Worms 2 on PC, what a wonderful game. Worms in 3D just doesn't work though, it's pretty terrible.

No more 3D Worms games. Come on. They can do better than this.

I'd like to point out two things: this is an exact copy of Worms 4 Mayhem, and that voice acting was definitely not there in the original version.

Worms 4 Mayhem was also a much better game than Worms 3D. Doesn't really mean much, though.

This franchise has so much potential :(

I played worms 3D it was poop, wow Jeff doesn't like the voices, hope he at least likes the weapons :D. I was thinking that I would totally play a FPS worms game, like really serious worms FPS but they have to have these voices :D. Totally make that!!

Worms 3D should not exist. It does look very boring. I'd stick with any 2D worms game over this

Yeah this looks pretty painful, they should have used the same engine and made the game with a 2D side-scrolling perspective.

I used to play the demo version of Worms original in MS-DOS. Those were the days...

They should probably make the next one an FPS since that's the only way to modernize a tactical game according to Ryan.

Oh Team 17. You peaked with Worms 2. Possibly Armageddon (but Armageddon lacked the crazy customization options of 2).

This doesn't look as as bad as I'd imagined, but the AI is crippled. It didn't know how to move two inches to pick up a crate drop on another level (if that's a difficulty level thing then it's just stupid). Then on the other spectrum, it can either make a dead-on bank shot or completely flob things up (admittedly a problem with past Worms games as well).

No, this is the first (well third) person remake of an old favorite (even though I liked scorched earth better). This is exactly what people are worried with games like X-Com etc. It can be done well, this wasn't. If they would have kept the side view they would have a playable game.

this just proves some games need to stay 2d

This is actually a really good game......cant understand why people are complaining abt it though, takes a while to get used to the controls but its easy and fun enough, if you actually put a little effort in.

man I remember playing Worms and worm-like-games as a kid and really getting a kick out of them with friends.

This 3D version just makes me sad though. Is there no way to make Worms work today? Does it really need to be 3D? Is there something else they can do to "modernize"?

In 3D like that it just looks like a really bad turn-based death match game. Which is super weird and terrible.

maybe if the camera snapped orthogonal to a plane containing the shooter and the target, and rendered a section-view or used some alpha transparency. kind of making it 2D when you activate a weapon, but allow you to roam around in 3D.

@tourge They've been making normal Worms games in the modern age, about one every year actually. It still works and is fun, but it really is the same game. And Worms 3D has been around for a while now, the first one came out eight years ago.

I completely enjoy the voices, they are silly, stupid, and funny. This on the other hand looks not great. Shame because I really love the 2-d ones.

Some of my most played games are worms on PS3 and 2 on 360.
