Not really. I know some people in the same boat: ZOE2 is HARD, especially at certain points (escort missions, that one boss fight where you couldn't kill the boss, just in general, etc etc), and that's a turnoff for some.

Man, ZOE2 still looks awesome and fun after all these years! I never played the first game, but Second Runner really does look light-years better on all fronts, just from the few minutes of ZOE1 they showed.

This port job seems OK, maybe I'll pick this up on the cheap later on...or even better, maybe I'll dig out my PS2 copy of ZOE2. This video really made me want to go play it. I'm glad my gen 1 PS3 is still kicking at times like these.

Picked this up solely because I wanted to show Konami I'm interested in a Z.O.E. 3. I know Kojima's already working on a version based on the FOX engine but dammit this franchise needs more love.

Everyone forgets ZOE3 was announced for next gen.

Also, I now kinda want a Dragon Ball Z game with this combat system.

this is making me want to play vanquish. because this feels a lot like metal gear revengance. and that quicklook reminded me of vanquish (take one mechanic and go as crazy and hardcore as possible).

People actually care about ZOE1/2's story? It all seemed like standard way-too-self-serious anime mecha story trappings to me. Fun games, though.

If they made a ZOE for the next generation, I would hope to fucking god they'd include the Japanese audio.

I really don't think the voice acting is bad. I've heard way worse. Sure, the game is melodramatic, but all Kojima games are, that's the fun of the story really.

it's alright....not my interest but yes something else than Metal Gear. And different to boot.

The story is fine Patrick, nothing to write about but enough to actually care about the characters and the universe. The voice acting is charming, even if is bad.

Okay, I HAVE to recommend that you watch the several minute anime sequence that plays when you start up the collection. You won't regret it.

Another great quick look. 1. Because it's actually quick. 2. It's fast paced and to the point. 3. A lot of gameplay and not to much menu stuff.

The last two Klepek QLs have been really good and if he can keep this up he might actually become a new favorite.

Great QL. I'll pick this up when it's cheaper, I really likes these games back when they came out.

But not everyone that enjoys anime is a jerk.

English dubbing almost always sounds fucking terrible though, especially child "actors", I can understand why nobody would want to sit through that shit. The Persona games are the only ones I've heard where the dubbing seemed totally tolerable. I can understand that a culture where subtitling is uncommon, and where the only exposure to foreign movies, cartoons etc. is horribly dubbed, you wouldn't appreciate that stuff a lot.

I forgot how much I hate the protag of ZOE1.

I played the original ZOE a loooooooooooooong time ago. I remember it being like 2 hours long if you skipped all the cut scenes.

The 2nd Runner might be worth playing but I don't know about the first one.

The background with the curvature of the world looks a lot like Vanquish.

I really loved the first zone of enders, the multiplayer was so much fun! too bad they dont show it in the quicklook.

I'm really glad I had the japaneese voice actors, though. I cant understand why they dont switch to it, I always do it if theres the option because more often then not the american translation are really bad.

I know that it is a cockpit but it doesn't make it better :p

MechWarrior and Armored Core are still the only mech games for me. ZoE seems just a little too over-the-top for what I'm looking for in a mech series.

@ervonymous: I'm with you, I prefer ZoE 1 to 2nd runner. The 2nd one was a bit too "anime" for my liking, although it had some great music.
