I've put in a couple of hours in so far, its good just having an issue with it kicking me out to desktop every now and then. The music's intensity dictates the enemies behaviour/aggressiveness, sometimes though it is quite hard to tell the difference from song to song.

Didn't expect a KMFDM reference. Vinny takes the gold.

Now Beat Hazard, that's a game. That I like. That seems similar.

I bought Symphony due to this QL, and I have put in hours upon hours on the PC version of Beat Hazard as well. Both games have insane on screen stuff going on, thought BH kinda beats it in that regard :D

Beat Hazard also has streaming radio support, which the dev of Symphony says is on the list of things to add, which is awesome. Also, I really love the whole UI and basically everything involved with Symphony. I don't know if I ever would have bought it if not for this QL to be honest, at least not without a demo.

Looks neat, I like the meta-ness of the Demon trying to attack your sound files. I already have audiosurf and Beat Hazard, so I'll probably get this too.

Kinda strange that the guys don't really know Desura. I'd say it's on par with gog as far as recognition goes. Or possibly somewhere in-between gog and gamersgate.

This looks really neat to me. I wonder how it'll cope with some heavy metal?

There definitely is some pretty good music integration in this game. It does a really good job of stepping up / slowing the action according to the tension and climaxes of the music.

I still think this Bullet Audyssey is the best music shooter I've played in years, and it's a goddamn flash game. I'm desperately hoping they put out a full Steam or other version of it.

Why would I buy this game if it's just going to attack my music?

I picked this up today, it's pretty fun. I think I'm either going to play it a lot, or get sick of it today. I do just love music though, I still play Rock Band on a regular basis, so I think I'll be at this for a while. It does a pretty good job analysing the songs and making the enemies appear to the rhythm. It struggles a bit with polyrhythmic tracks, like something from Demon Hunter or Affiance (both metal bands). It can stutter during those types of tracks while trying to determine which of its 3 speeds to choose and will flash between blue (slow), purple (medium), and red (fastest).

You basically just hold the shoot button and try to pick up notes for points, not much variety, but there's intense boss battles and a steady stream of unlockables and leaderboards to keep you going. I like it quite a bit.

Yeah, that's what I was thinking. Though I can imagine this becoming seizure-inducing too at some point.

yeah that clinches it for me, i'll probably pick this up in the near future. The ability to use streamed music always seemed like such a great thing for games like this. Makes me wonder if it would be possible for Audiosurf Air. Although I imagine that the audio detection for Audiosurf needs a lot more information than a stream can provide because of peaks and valleys in the track. I would love a future where i stream the audio of a concert live directly into audiosurf and just play along. Would be pretty awesome.

Major issue for me that nobody seems to be harping on , is MOUSE CONTROL ONLY , its decent mouse control but to me it just feels cheaty, id love the ability to control my ship with my controller or arcade stick or even keyboard dammit ..

the lack of control options breaks it ultimately as a shmup etc for me but its still pretty cool, only supports 10 min tracks at the most so i cant play my 30+min tracks that feel like a whole series of stages in beat hazard etc ..

but this track just scrapes in below the limit , i didnt make it intentionally for the game (something i will do in the future) but i think it works out well if you have the endurance to last that long that is .. Got about 300,000 on the 2nd difficulty level , plus it had a demon in it for me , your results may vary.

I bought this game on gog.com pretty much on a whim. It has the honor of being the very first game I've ever pre-ordered from the site. I pretty much like it a lot once I started playing.

They touch on this about ten minutes in and I think it'd be a good mechanic if you were rewarded for firing on beat. Either successive hits on beat multiply damage or they add to a meter that's used for a heavy attack. The latter would reward you for knowing the song in a lot of cases, anticipating the buildup to a huge drop in a drum and bass song for example. It'd definitely add more momentum and strategy to the game.
