Thursday Night Throwdown: 10/06/11

To be fair it's really hard to watch other people play puzzle games in general. Very easy to get frustrated.

I didn't watch this for the potential spoilers but I'm really glad a bunch of people in the chat were super pissed. That's hilarious. THE INTERNET! So easy babies can use it. Big, dumb, probably smelly babies.

The second this was announced as this weeks TNT I knew it was something I had absolutely no inclination to watch. Guess what, I didn't watch. Those who I hear were blowing up the chat with dickish comments should have done the same.

Yep, comments still look the same. Don't know why I even bother reading through them anymore. And I'm sure someone will point out that I'm complaining as well.

The only thing that is tough for me to watch is seeing someone try and do something where I know the solution and they dance around it for a few minutes, it's just a thing like listening to someone say something untrue then ask if it's true and have no way to tell them what's up lol. This first puzzle gave me weird feelings of anxiety and I had to take a break, I'll make some calming soup or something and watch the rest later :)

I feel this a bit as well, but I enjoy yelling at my monitor it gives me a good laugh, much less anxiety. I get anxiety listening to other peoples opinions on things when I am strongly opinionated on the subject, like listening to a podcast of someone poo-poo'ing a game that I absolutely love. That's the stuff that makes me explode and get stressed out.

I love this, but I think this is the first time I'm actually yelling at the screen! Way to think with Portals!

Yeah, I love this game, these guys and this platform, but watching people struggle with something when you've already sussed out the solution is the most infuriating thing ever. Any puzzle game is a bad choice for a TNT.

I don't necessarily get frustrated watching people play Portal when I know the solution, I just found it pretty boring to watch them take so much time, especially in that second test. Certainly nothing that deserved the anger that was present in the chat while this was live, though.

Didn't really enjoy watching this live so I just turned it off after a while, but I found it much more enjoyable to watch here when I could skip a few minutes forward to see if they were close to figuring a puzzle out or if they were still struggling.

This was definitely more enjoyable live with the chat.

Watching them play was pretty hilarious if you ask me. It reminded me of how Portal 2 generally went when my friend and I went through coop. Lots of "Hmmm, uh, WAIT... no, HANG ON I'VE GOT IT, you put that there then... no that doesn't work... okay how bout... no..."

This was a pretty great TNT. I loved trying to figure out the solution in my head while Ryan and Patrick were trying to work it out. Sometimes I would see the solution before them and yell at my monitor and sometimes they would get it before me and I would be all like "Ohhhhhhhh!". It's was one of the best TNT's so far IMO.

Watching this was crazy since I've played it before. Crazy!

I feared in advance that this would be frustrating, but it's actually really fun watching them struggle. Kind of like watching quiz gameshows.

Okay, seen it all now and loved it. People bitching about this TNT should be forcefully dragged out of their basements and given an Internet timeout until they grow a sense of humour.

Glad to see I'm not the only one sucking at puzzles.

This TNT made me remember how much I love this game.

Suck when you can figure it out before they do. Still fun to watch because this is how ALL of us played Portal 2 just not with a camera pointed at us.

seems a little easier to figure out the solutions when you can see both screens at once.

It wasn't infuriating at all, I was laughing a lot and was as happy as you guys were when you made it through a stage.

I disagree with what people are saying, I thought this was a really engaging TNT. One of the best. More Real Co-Op games in the future, please (and less Dead Island).

I'm going to be honest, I found this to be boring. I do love Ryan and Patrick and Portal 2, but Portal 2 is not really a enjoyable game to watch somebody else play. Also as both Patrick and Ryan were concentrating on playing the game there was not much interesting things being said, a third guy would have helped here.

More Dead Island less Portal 2.

While frustrating to watch, I still found it entertaining. Though funny enough I was most frustrated at them repeatedly calling the orange goo red.

I mean, it's orange, right?

If you dont like it, dont watch it. Or stop watching it, its what I did. Not my cup of tea =)

Watching this makes me realize how much I hate backseat gaming. I know everyone gets stuck in Portal. It's natural. But two minds are better than one....sometimes. I just want to give them the tiniest nudge forward. Watching them succeed is great. Watching them get more and more confused is painful.

Man, this was painful to watch with a lot of meandering...

Watching the guys trying to solve a bunch of Portal puzzles for TNT may not have been the best idea. Oh well it could have been worse.

Its quite painful noticing how much better the pc version of this looks compared to the 360 and the ps3 versions.

but meh, more portal 2 is better than no portal 2, thats what i say

Pretty obvious they cheated solving some of those levels. Was funny none the less.

Ug I can't watch this until my partner in science gets back from vacation and we make our way through it first, but seeing this TNT in the play list everyweek is killing me. I wish we had a random PC game to pull me through.

I understand that it might be difficult to play this live in front of people, but man was that frustrating haha. It was interesting to see how their thought processes differ from mine when entering a room though.

This is possibly the most frustrating thing I've ever watched.

The only things the PS3 version has over the 360 version is the store and being able to play with PC players. Those things don't make it better.

Nothing. They are practically the same. The only clear "winner" is the PC version.
