Unfinished: Gang Beasts 09/03/2014

Glad Dan finally got to play this since it is the most Dan game ever created.

This is the greatest thing.

And don't take this as an insult, as the opinion is derived from what the giantbomb community seems to think of dan; he's apparently the dumbest member, but yet he's the best at video games, how does that work? He picked up this game extremely fast.

Many a Saturday evenings would be spent watching this when I was a kid and it was AWESOME.

Man, this game is always a blast to watch, but it also makes me miss @Vinny being at the main HQ.

I interviewed one of the Boneloaf team a while ago and they said just as much. They wanted to try and craft John K/Ren and Stimpy style designs to the characters, which was one of their biggest influences, but I agree with people who loved the blob characters and I guess they listened.

On the video itself, seeing the development of this game and seeing people's reaction to it every time it's played at a big convention or a smaller setting has been amazing.

SO glad to see that as this game becomes more of a game, it's remaining crazy as all get out. And with Double Fine behind them, I'm SO excited for this!

This video has restored my faith in video games, Brad, Giant Bomb, the internet, and humanity.

Whilst @danryckert makes a whole lot of incredibly misplaced assumptions about a great deal of things, I can't let this one go...

American Gladiators was absolute garbage. Grey set, terrible lighting and a total lack of theatrics. It literally could not have been made any worse, whilst still being the same, in essence, as it's UK parent.

Anyhoo, that was brilliant QL, as it was always going to be. I'm glad Dan has finally been exposed to The Beasts.

I would watch a 24 hour stream of gang beasts...

There should be fanart of the guys in their respective animal onesies.

Also, Drew may not have won a match, but he's still a winner in our hearts.

When this game is fully done, it will be a true classic.

27:28 made me laugh so damn hard. I always have fun watching you guys play this.

The bit at 07:20 when Dan is holding Jeff and Brad just comes in and throws Dan out alongside Jeff is fucking amazing.

It would be amazing to have a royal rumble with gang beasts. The problem is that you can be out of the rings in 3 seconds. So there would not be a lot of time for wrestle theatrics if they played 30 people in the ring 1 life each. Big chance the whole thing would be over within 30 or even 15 min. If you can increase the health by... like a lot it might work out and be the greatest thing ever.

I'm so mad this game didn't come out when I was in middle school. I need 7 other people to come over so this can be played as it should be.

This could become a staple of UPF or anything and I'd be all for it.

Some people were thrown out of the ring within a few seconds in Wrestlemania 2000 too. Needs to have an equivalent to the character intros so there's enough time for the next player to switch seats and controllers with the most recently eliminated one though.

What other 4 player quick looks are there?

The climbing looks just about as fluid and intuitive as Crazy Climber for the arcade.

After watching this and reading dev comments about what they have planned in terms of stages etc, I'm even more hyped for this game. I just hope the final build includes online multiplayer.

That part at 26mins when they see the top of the walls. Reminds me of playing video games and finding things like that. Like getting up the wall in Motocross Madness and hitting the invisible barrier that flew you across the map for the first time. Or hitting a certain angle in Interstate '76 and going up the wall to the top of the levels. Ah, video games.

It always seems to be fun to watch Gang Beasts.

For that matter I have learned today that I like watching Dan lose. I can't quite figure out why that is.

Oh my god. Dan punching Jeff in the face while hanging on the ferris wheel. That just purchased the game for me.
