Jumping straight into 2v2 in Inversus is probably not the best way to go (took me at least 5 games of 1v1 for it to click into place when I reviewed it), but glad to see it played - it's a great game.

I've never played a Metroid game. I kind of want to see if what Jeff said was true about Super Metroid.

It's still the best 2D Metroid. And Metroid Prime is the best 3D Metroid... but not as good as Super Metroid.

Real talk, Americans, dentists over here don't ever state flossing is mandatory and at most suggest it as a nice to have. They'll freak out if you ever hint that you skipped brushing at any point, though. I think it may be a weird US holdout like automatic circumcision.

Weird, my dentist thinks flossing is really important and I'm not from the US. I thought you did it to prevent calculus.

Edit: The original model gba is the only nintendo handheld that doesn't give me cramp in my hands after prolonged play, I've tried 'em al. And my hands aren't even big!

There's some evidence that daily flossing by someone who knows what they are doing (pretty much equals being a dental professional) is beneficial, and that flossing may reduce gingivitis (gum inflammation), but there's little evidence that non-professional flossing helps avoid periodontitis or cavities. It may be beneficial, but it isn't a necessary part of good dental health.

It's so nice preferring anti aliasing to be off, so much performance saved. I just prefer it as crisp and sharp as possible, I don't like the look anti aliasing gives.

Funny to see kids in the UK now all have perfect teeth, one of those things that came over from the US thanx to the rise in US celeb culture in all of the news now. I'm just a few years before the whole dentist revolution here, so my teeth aren't that great. I mean when I was a kid no one had braces, because if you did you'd get beaten up. So when I was at the dentist I opted out and told him I didn't want them. The other thing was how you weren't really told much as a kid that fizzy drinks and sweets would destroy your teeth, so I ended up with like 5 fillings.

Like I said, it's all changed now though, kids today have American teeth here in the UK. The only thing we still don't do over here is all the fake teeth and capping crap.

That Metroid 2 remake seems to crib a huge number of assets from the GBA Metroid games, which I'd argue are both slightly better than Super Metroid in some respects.

AM2R is stated to have "Zero Mission-like gameplay", and plays pretty much identically to ZM as far as how the movement and jumping feels and having the edge-hanging mechanic.

The GBA Metroid games are good. I liked Fusion a lot more than Prime. Zero Mission was good too. I bought the Metroid Prime Gamecube bundle but I never liked the game much, I was too used to playing Halo that the controls felt bad. I know it was not supposed to be a FPS game but still. Kind of would like to play it again though to find out but I don't have my Gamecube anymore.

The GBA isn't the portable SNES. The PSP is the portable SNES.

I mean, that's what PSP stands for, isn't it? Portable SNES Player? That's all anyone used it for that I'm aware of.

The Metroid 2 Remake isn't perfect, but it's still a really solid game and a hell of a lot more interesting than the actual "Metroid" game Nintendo put out this week. I'd definitely recommend checking it out to anyone who's a fan of Super Metroid and/or the GBA games.
