Very cool. Can't wait 'til tomorrow. It's a shame so many other folks have unrealistic qualifications for certain types of games. They don't all have to be Call of Duty 4. Sometimes you just want to toss a disc with a virtual mutt. And as a gaming dad, it will be nice to have another worthwhile title my kids and I can connect with.

@JJWeatherman: Sure, out of all the launch titles for the Wii, the one I played the most was Wii sports. Im also sure this is a good game, just not a 5 star game. Besides that, it also kind of encompases the whole "Throw away" nature of the Wii, sure its fun to play with you dad, but after that hour or so is up it gets put down. Most of the people I know who are not "gamers" get excited facebooking and playing the Wii when they first get one, but as soon as the honeymoon period is over, they totaly forget about it. Its extreamly sad how much leway we give the Wii, especialy when games like this one come out and we give it 5 stars, just because something mildly playable and fun comes out on a gimmicky console. Its kind of like giving Tomb Raider on the N-Gage a good review because you could actually play it, not because it was a good game.

Well, I know I ordered this. Wii Sports is practically the only game for the Wii that I pick up years after its release, so why not pony up for more of that same kinda stuff? What other game am I going to buy?

The only thing that irritates me is that I'm spending all of this money basically on the Wii Motion Plus add-on, yet the only game I can foresee using it to any effect in the near future is the Tiger Woods game that came out a bit before this. Are there any other games in the near future? Even far future?

Why? Because it's fun? This is the kind of thinking that holds games back. Just because it's not your "run of the mill" game doesn't mean it doesn't deserve 5 stars. Wii Sports is the kind of game that prides itself in being goofy, charming fun, which a lot of other games cannot get right. Succeeding in making a game like this hold your attention long enough, and on top of that working well, should be grounds enough for a good score.

I definitely wanna play this.  I loved Wii Sports, and this look like just as much fun.  The archery portion definitely has me interested, and funny enough, I'm really interested in throwing around that frisbee a bit.

Why? 5/5 is not perfect like everybody thinks it has to be. It just means it's great and they recommend playing it greatly.

If this gets a quick look, a written review, AND a video review, plus a 5 star rating, this is a MUST BUY for me. And on top of all this, Jeff reviewed it.


You know, there is a good side to Jeff being highly critical of the Wii--- when he gives a 5 star rating, you know he truly recommends the game. 

Also, I want to share a short story... My family is a big party family. Whenever there's a holiday, we invite the whole family over to pig out, swim in the pool, watch a movie, or play Wii Sports. In fact, just a few weeks ago, we held a 4th of July party. We spent time eating and stuff, but most of our time was spent with my family huddled around the living room TV playing Wii Sports. It's hilarious to watch the reactions my family has while playing this game, with all the yelling and laughing... Even to this day, nearly three years later, the original Wii Sports has kept most of it's charm and magic. It has even made my grandmother into a "casual" gamer; she now owns a DS for herself with Brain Age and a few other puzzle games. She says she plays it everyday while reading the newspaper in the morning.

I'm definitely getting this game tomorrow. This review didn't convince me to buy this game since I've been convinced for a long time now, but it just confirms even more that I need to buy it.

hmmmm, I had high hopes for the wave race like mini game and I had hoped they would include something along the lines of Pilotwings for the plane. Too bad. I guess I'll have to play it see if its really worth the purchase.

Listening to him talk about it,and how some of the games are just kind of throw away, I really dont see what warrants that score.  It doesnt even matter though, I have no interest in any mini game collection right now.......... back to Demon's Souls (god im addicted to that game).

Jeff looked at this game through a casuals eyes and looked at what it offered. Simple, easy, fun for the whole family and also done well. The IGN review was just "bwah notz hardco4e w3er da hedshot?!1"

Motion sensors? Bah! Humbug! 

-  Motion sensors will never replicate real life controls: In a car racing game, to replicate real life controls you require a physical wheel attached to a static pivot.  When operating a video game aircraft, you want a joystick. 
-  Table tennis itself borders on being a video game.  Why don't you just play the real thing? 
-  It's not fun.  Nobody is going to play with you--that quick look you made is the last time you're going to play this garbage with anybody.
- The only reason Wee's are selling is because PARENTS are purchasing kids' toys: a turd that's 50% off smells better than a rose to a clueless consumer.

No one's "asking" anything.

Jeff enjoyed the game. He felt it was worthy of a five-star rating. That's all that matters. Everyone may have their own thoughts on the game, but that's irrelevant when considering the views of one single person.

Bitter much? The idea isn't to replicate realism perfectly, its to *gasp* have fun! I know, it sounds crazy, but these games are fun, and most people still go back to Wii sports to this day, so I doubt it will be any different with this.
