Sid Meier's Civilization Revolution is what you'd normally expect from a Sid Meier game - it meets the high standards set by the previous games in the franchise and puts a few interesting twists on to make your time more interesting. Though, it's really fun to watch your nation develop and simply crush other nations while you're building the Stonehenge wonder, there's the problem that's haunted every Civilization game - repetitiveness. Once you've achieved all the victories, even on the lowest difficulty level, there's nothing left more to explore and it really starts to get boring. OK, at this point the multiplayer and a little higher difficulty level come in and somewhat save the day, but if you're not into thinking out your tactics and simply want to destroy your enemies as fast as possible that is probably the end of the line and the game just seems uninteresting.
Talking about the graphics, I have to say that I'm impressed, though there is no superior animation or detailed realistic graphics, the game does seem to embrace this cartoon-type, and a little bit funny, look. Of course, the leaders are a little silly in their responsive motions, but these motions make the two basic answers ''I welcome peace'' and ''This means war'', a little less serious and less painful to hear. The overall tone of the game is something like ''Let's have some silly fun while we bash at each others nations! xoxo (Yay, girlfriend!)'', you get the point...
The AI in the game, at least on the first few difficulty levels is plain stupid. It either declares war on you because you don't give it some gold or because you didn't want to trade (The trade rarely is a good deal for you). When you are close to achieving victory, even your ''best friend'' seems to want to destroy you, although you have the best possible relationship (giving him all he wants :S).
The best part of the game, are the imbecile (I like the word) Barbarian villages. Just seeing a bulked-up guy hit himself in the face with a club is just so relaxing and there is some charm to that particular hit. The sound seems appropriate to a world domination game, the only noise I really have had enough of is the war declaration sound, but beside that the sound does a decent job of setting the mode, though it is far from perfection.
To sum everything up, Sid Meier's Civilization Revolution is a pretty fun game for the first 10-20 times you play it, but once you have everything down and have basically seen everything there is to see, it gets repetitive and just boring and even the multiplayer and higher difficulty levels do little in the way of the game getting repetitive.
