    Five Star Successor 0

The Original Sin & Punishment was an impressive game that suffered from poor timing. Released at the tail-end of the N64's lifespan and popularity, S & P was only able to generate a cult following in the United States which eventually led to an import release on the Wii's Virtual Console. Today, gamers are granted a small miracle as one of the most prolific developers of the shooting genre has released their latest work exclusively for the Wii console.    The modest Wii graphics are serv...

Treasure Brings The Pain Once Again... 0

Developer Treasure has a known pedigree of memorable shooters through the years and console generations from Gunstar Heroes, Radiant Silvergun, and Ikaruga. One of their known efforts was only on the Nintendo 64 called Sin & Punishment as it never seen an official release outside Japan until its appearance on the Wii Virtual Console two years ago. Due to the success of the N64 import classic as a download, Nintendo of America decided to bring in the sequel, Sin & Punishment:...

    Submit or Die. Often. 0

What's going on in the picture? Doesn't matter just shoot it. For fans of the original Sin and Punishment, I can without much hesitation say this: Yes, Star Successor is the sequel you wanted. It blends the the fast-paced action of an on-rails shooter with the twitch-reflex timing of the bullet hell shooter as well as its predecessor. The Wii remote makes a much better pointer than the Nintendo 64's analog stick, and the rest of the controls transfer flawlessly. So if you enjoyed the confi...

The end level boss Comeback Tour continues 0

It’s almost an authentic feel-good story. The original Sin and Punishment, never officially released in North America, becoming an underground favorite amongst importers and people making more cash than me. By popular demand (I presume popular demand anyways) the game was finally released via Wii Virtual Console and becomes a big enough smash that the original developers get the thumbs up for an internationally-released sequel. The only reason I don’t shed tears of joy over this inspirational jo...

GamepadDojo Reviews Sin and Punishment 2: Get Bonus or Go Home 2

You are going to go to your nearest game store and preorder Sin and Punishment 2 for the Wii. That is not a command, but rather a statement of fact. It is, as of yet, the best game on the console. “Not much of a contest hur hur” I hear you say. Okay, fair enough. What if I told you it is the best rail shooter of all time, and that’s even including games like Star Fox 64? That grab your attention a little more? It is easily one of my favorite games of all time, and it managed this while being en...

    Have a blast, blasting. 0

This may be my fav Wii game to date.  Treasure is great at schmups, and they continue that with S&P Star Successor. I was a bit worried Nintendo wouldn't release this game, since the first Sin & Punishment didn't get a U.S. release. (until Virtual console).  But Nintendo came through and localized this one in all it's glory.  You play one of two characters.  Isa (the dude) is more challenging of the two.  The controls are manual.  Karachi  (the chick) is better for beginners or if you ra...

Sin and Punishment: Star Successor review 0

Sin and Punishment: Star Successor is the sequel to the N64 cult hit, Sin and Punishment, a game that was released in Japan, but now available via Nintendo's Virtual Console. In this game you play the role of Isa or Kachi as you battle your way through the war between Inner-Space and Outer-Space. The game's plot is doesn't go too deep, but it plays out like a typical Japanese anime, but the main star of the show is the gameplay. Sin and Punishment: Star Successor take use of the Wii's Nu...

    lovely mayhem 0

A superb experience in so many ways. The gameplay is franctic, near impossible, and quite beautiful to look at. It's a true shooter in every sense of the word. And adding in the "treasure" style brings it to a level of hardcore I've been dying for in a wii game for some time. But what makes it a real winner in my opinion is the fact that continue respawn points are placed perfectly, allowing the player to move through the game without getting stuck and frustrated for hours. These checkpoints are...

    Bullets from Heaven 0

Sin and Punishment, a fast-paced rail shooter, never got much of a chance to succeed outside Japan. Though it had English voice acting and required little localization (the subtitles were in Japanese), it was released close to the end of the Nintendo 64′s life cycle, but became a popular pick when it was released on the Wii’s Virtual Console service. A sequel was almost guaranteed, and Sin and Punishment: Star Successor made its way across shores, to the delight of many of its fans. You have a ch...

It's Better than House of the Dead. 0

A vary cool Hidden Gem. the dialogue is amazing. it's like walking through a lucid dream. There's an auto scroll platforming segments. Beyond the main characters trying to protect each other no one really knows what's going. on it's It's Better than House of the Dead. I think that's enough said....

Sin & Punishment: Star Successor. 0

In this day and age it's hard to find a game that is not afraid to completly destroy you. But i've noticed in the last couple of years that some developers are making games that do just that. For example, Demon's Souls, a game that demands you to get better at the game before you'll be able to get anywhere. And it's these kinds of games that really get me excited. The fact that I actually have to have some sort of skill to complete the game, makes me wonder why things got so easy. Now I'm not sa...
