The only thing missing is that damn Sam's club exclusive, but I ordered it online so it shall soon be here. I even made sure to get the xbox version at best buy so i could have the pvp arena doohickey.

Jesus. Wish I could blow money like that.

#7 Posted by SuperWristBands (2029 posts) - 1 year, 6 months ago

Christ... all that money...

Well, whatever. If I had the money to blow on this stuff I would waste it on equally dumb stuff.

#8 Posted by AlmostApollo (71 posts) - 1 year, 6 months ago

Good lord! That's amazing! Are you gonna scan them through the boxes or open 'em up? How crazy 'spensive was all that?

#9 Posted by august (3712 posts) - 1 year, 6 months ago

Yo I got a Chop Chop... and an eighth.

#10 Posted by shakra (252 posts) - 1 year, 6 months ago

I'm enjoying it so it's okay. I'll enjoy it more when drill sergeant shows up that elusive bastard.

#11 Posted by afjkidd5 (69 posts) - 1 year, 6 months ago

I feel you man. I ended up picking up the game and a Skylander of each element. Jeff should have been a salesman!

#18 Posted by TooWalrus (11816 posts) - 1 year, 6 months ago

This comment had me curious, so I checked your mini bio and found that you made that ugly meter app. I owe you a punch from my sister.
#23 Posted by MikeGosot (3227 posts) - 1 year, 6 months ago

How many Skylanders are in there!?

#24 Posted by shakra (252 posts) - 1 year, 6 months ago

@Slaker117: I'm sorry is your sister ugly? We actually built a version that really works, rather than the joke app that is up now. I've been hesitant to release it after seeing people I know get upset when it tells them they are ugly. It's kinda awesome though.

@MikeGosot I think there are only like 16 out right now. I haven't actually counted them all yet.

#25 Posted by MikeGosot (3227 posts) - 1 year, 6 months ago
@shakra: You will buy them all? There are 32 planned, i think.
#26 Posted by shakra (252 posts) - 1 year, 6 months ago

@MikeGosot: I doubt I'll buy them all, idk how long they are going to wait to release them. My partner's child's birthday is in a couple of weeks. I'm going to play through and finish the game with my wife and give the game and toys to him. I couldn't resist opening them and playing with them though, they are pretty awesome.

#27 Posted by el_tajij (628 posts) - 1 year, 6 months ago

@shakra: That's an awesome collection!

I'm planning on going to the Modern Warfare 3 midnight launch to buy that amount of Skylanders myself.....

#28 Posted by MikeGosot (3227 posts) - 1 year, 6 months ago
@shakra: I want to buy them all. Because... Well... They look awesome! But they will be too fucking expensive here in Brazil, so i'll pass.
#29 Posted by Afroman269 (7388 posts) - 1 year, 6 months ago

You did this to yourself.

#30 Posted by AuthenticM (3518 posts) - 1 year, 6 months ago

How much did this cost you?

#31 Posted by LordXavierBritish (6236 posts) - 1 year, 6 months ago

You're my hero.

#32 Posted by Zacagawea (1325 posts) - 1 year, 6 months ago

I just puked in my mouth a little

#33 Posted by MikkaQ (9714 posts) - 1 year, 6 months ago

You can't blame Jeff because you're both irresponsible man-children.

#34 Posted by msavo (7262 posts) - 1 year, 6 months ago

I wonder how many sales are to actual children. All the hype from this game online has come from adults and teenagers.

#35 Posted by Rudeboy217 (1726 posts) - 1 year, 6 months ago

Holy shite! Have fun!

#36 Posted by Commisar123 (1760 posts) - 1 year, 6 months ago

I congratulate you

My son couldn't be less interested in this stuff, which is annoying because I need him as an excuse!

#38 Posted by RandomInternetUser (6779 posts) - 1 year, 6 months ago

Jesus, friend. That's a lot of Skylander.

#39 Posted by msavo (7262 posts) - 1 year, 6 months ago

@jozzy: I'm picturing your son wanting to play Halo but you saying no and buying him Skylanders instead.

#40 Posted by Zembosis (95 posts) - 1 year, 6 months ago

you make me sad

Ask for a gift receipt, that way they don't think you are buying it for yourself.

No Master Chief for dessert until you finish your Skylanders, young man!

He thankfully doesn't even know that Halo is a game at 6 years old (he knows the toys though). He actually wants a 3DS with the zelda game, so you can't say he has no taste. I just find the whole skylanders thing very interesting. Kids are not so easily wow-ed by technology these days, i bought a Kinect and they thought the whole "you are a controller" thing was totally normal and were not amazed in the least. Same with the skylander figures and the portal...

Not as an excuse for the store clerk, but for my wife!

@jozzy: Sounds like your kid knows what's up. Not into Skylanders, not into Kinect, wants to play Ocarina of Time for 3DS. He has a bright future.

How does this work on the 3DS? If it was 15 years younger, this game would be the shit! However I'm almost 30 so I can see it for the cheap marketing scheme that it is. Still like the idea though. *sigh*( I'm a nerd.

#48 Posted by mosespippy (2610 posts) - 1 year, 6 months ago

@Valames: Only $150? I bought a $400 chair and I don't even play PC games. I figure if I'm going to sit at a desk for between 2 and 12 hours a day it'd better be comfortable. I spent about 3 hours in the store comparing it with a $150 chair and I feel I made the right choice.

Are we going to have to form some kind of support group for these Skylander people?
