I cant name 5 sniper-based games, so this is very exciting if they pull it off.
Anyone ?
Sniper: Ghost Warrior
Game » consists of 11 releases. Released Jun 24, 2010
Sniper: Ghost Warrior is a military simulation game developed by CITY-interactive with focus on sniper activities like spotting enemies and honing sniper skills, including a 12 player multiplayer mode.
Anybody interested in this game ? (May 25th)
Wow, never even heard of it, and it's coming out so soon.
Maybe, but there are other releases at the moment that are more important.
Yea, when I submitted the name it wasn't even on the developers own website, and since then it seems the game has dropped that part of it's name. I don't know how to query for a name change for a game entry but if anyone does know, then they should definitely do that. The game's name is now 'Sniper: Ghost Warrior'.
I rememer reading about a sniper game, featuring the ability to put your helmet on a stick and wave it infront of windows and stuff. I think that might be the game Devil24 is talking about. Was on Xbox im pretty sure, I was interested at the time but then never heard anything about it anymore.
I'll need to hear/see some more about this game before I pass judgement. Sounds interesting so far.
The only sniper game i know, based in WW2 and critically acclaimed and highly praised, is Sniper Elite
that it ? I stopped playing after the first mission because everything in it felt too outdated for me..
I'm not sure, looks similar. I remember reading about it in OXM a while ago (Edit: ages really). From memory there were 2 sniper games being covered (maybe not in the same issue) and one seemed ok and the other seemed a lot more impressive. Not sure which one but I'm pretty sure Sniper Elite was one of them. Maybe the other game got cancelled?
" @Bennyishere said:I will be sure to not respond to your threads from now on." I'm interested. Sniping can be fun. "thanks for your educating input "

I guess i shouldve added a smiley face or something, cuz its hard to get feelings across the internet. my bad :)
Not sure yet on Sniper:Ghost Warrior, but a few noteworthy points:
The game will be made up of one half snipe missions, and the other half assault missions, so you will play two different characters. There will be mp, snipe on snipe style...could be interesting. The game is sposed to be $40, and sp is proported to last 10-12 hrs. Most of this is per IGN.
The Gametrailer link to 3 vids...not working now for me though:

Sniper Elite is the only pure snipe game I've played. It was very simish, and extremely tedious. I couldn't stick w/it. Looked like ass as well as I remember.
Those videos have actually made me carefully interested lol. Which is more than I can say I was before.
Not to sure about the assault missions. Doubt if could hold a candle to some other games set in contemporary conflicts. Though I still think a sniping game could be good if done properly.
I dug through my old magazines and the sniper game I was thinking of was actually Sniper Elite. It said that there was a coop mode and your partner could put his helmet on to the tip of his gun to draw enemy snipers into giving away their positions. I wonder if it made it into the final version. Oh and that other game I remembered was called Muzzle Flash which by the looks of it was really really bad (even for the time) and seems to have gone dark in 2002 when they announced it was delayed and 99% likely cancelled now seeing as nothing else was ever said about it.
I might go see if I can hunt down a copy of Sniper Elite and check it out. I wanted to play it back in the day but never ended up doing it.
I've always liked the concept of something like this, but it seems to be something that'd be difficult to make a game out of, I suppose we'll wait and see though =D
This game better be heavily sick, better than of: dragon rising. That was hard stuff. I like to snipe too, especially when you're getting heavy ragdoll, Rambo 4 type kills. Although it better not be too hard too line up all the wind, bullet travel etc.
I played it for a bit at my buddies house and it bugged out after the second mission. The supporting character would just freeze up along with all of the enemies. You could walk all the way up to a bad guy and knife him without the guy as much as reacting to you. What's weird is that not all of the AI was bugged, just about 90%, other AI seemed to be eagle eyed and trigger happy. We stopped playing about an hour in, when in one mission you had to stealth through some village, it become impossibly difficult with the glitches (i.e. guy walking against a fence post and alarm triggered out of no where).
What is strange is that the graphics engine is nice, the models look good, and the gun-play feels good. It just looks like they didn't give it T&L towards the end, and just rushed out the release. Granted I only saw the first 2-3 missions, so I cannot comment on end game. We also didn't try out the multi-player either. Until they release a patch, might be a game to skip.
I'm definitely curious about it. It looks like it could be better than Sniper Elite on the xbox but that's not saying a whole lot.
" Another game on my rental list. "Along with singularity? Looks to be another interesting one.
