They don't talk about how this war ends, but we know by the time the movies start... there is still a Republic, but no sith empire (Though obviously this game recons a lot of things from the galactic empire as ideas of the sith, it was still an exstention of the Republic.)

They come back every thousand years or so. So nah not feeling bad at all, plus, I'm more of a Republic kinda guy :P

They take turns alternating between near-extinction and galaxy-rulers, so I'd say it evens out.

This right here. It's all cyclical and without the Empire/Sith around, the Jedi would probably get bored. Spend all their time bullseyeing womp rats and that can't be good for the womp rat population.

exactly and since this is set 2000+ years before the movies we got at least two major wars to go through..

Except World War 2 wasn't really about America, more about Hitler trying to take over Europe. So since Europe is, mostly, Nazi free I'd say that WW2 still carries its point.

There's like 2000 years of unexplained time between this and the movies, right?

Who's to say the Empire doesn't rule for a few hundred years before the Republic comes back?

The USA is in it's current position of power directly due to WW2. They sat back and got rich manufacturing for the war effort while the European powers decimated each other and then swooped in at the end to save the day. Before WW2 the USA was more than happy to remain isolated.

I am playing Light Side/Empire and have saved quite a few people already. Doesn't matter to me.
