Why don't you people buy from GOG? They've been having a huge sale for the last couple of weeks. Fez & Hotline Miami have both been on sale. Don't Starve was on sale a few days ago.

I don't understand why you would wait for Witcher 2 to go on sale on Steam when they often sell both bundled on GOG for under $10.

They had the early access starter packs in the winter sale (or at least the deluxe one with Jugg set, not sure about the Sven one), but I'm hoping they go a but further and expand the sale to in-game items given given that Dota 2 and the workshop have really exploded since then.

@oraknabo: I buy games on GOG as well, but usually only older games that I can only get there. Steam is just easier to install, run games and maintain what is rapidly turning into a vast gaming library. Having saves in the "cloud" is also great, though Gamesave Manager+Dropbox does that fairly well if you don't want to use Steam.
The DRM part of it doesn't bother me at all, never had any problem with it to be honest.

As for the sale, I really hope nothing catches my fancy. Already bought Rogue Legacy, and Witcher 2 was cheap a week or so ago. I also picked up the Legacy of Kain pack on GoG, got Amalur on PS3 to beat, and generally too many games (only got a 66.8 completion percentage on Backloggery, just can't seem to meet my goal of 70%...)
But! If I am to buy something I would buy Dark Souls, just can't seem to sit down with my 360 these days to beat it. And Surgeon Simulator 2013 would be neat to have.

All I want is Borderlands 2 and the season pass + DLC. I was going to buy it on amazon digitally, but I live in Canada, and have a Canadian credit card, so now that's out and I just have to hope that steam sells it at a similar price when the time rolls around.

FEZ is the only thing I want. I just got all the Cubes and Anti-Cubes on the 360 version and I really think its one of my favourite games this generation, would pay a reasonable sale price just to see what it looks like on PC. Maybe even beat it again, who knows.

prison architect: it looked fun in the QL but not for the amount they are asking, compare to how much interest i have in it

Eh, sadly my videocard is crapped out, sure it still works but it overheats extremely fast, i need a new one. Especially since it's fairly old (raedon HD 5770)

So i'll miss out on this summers sale. Maybe I'll get a new card for X-mas so i can take part in the holiday sale.

DMC is the big one i hope gets a good discount , and i going for van helsing and sniper elite 2 haven't played a good world war game in a long long time .

I'm keeping with my tradition of buying the previous year's Magic the Gathering game with a 75% discount after the newest one has released. It's usually like 8-10 bucks with all the dlc included.

I don't think these will go on sale, both games are in alpha still.

I don't think there's a single Steam game I want right now, I have everything I need pretty much. Well maybe Endless Space, which was just on sale, but I'm not sure if I'm really ready to get into 4X yet.

The Witcher 2 was like 6 bucks the other day. I would like BioShock Infinite to go low, I might buy some of the Magic the Gathering games if they are cheap enough (even though I own some of them on Xbox already). I might finally buy Just Cause 2 as well.

At this point, I can't really run the big AAA games on my laptop, so I usually hope for some steals on indie games I wouldn't otherwise contemplate. I've been snapping up a ton of adventure games on GOG and bought a few things from that Amazon sale (namely Rollercoaster Tycoon 2), but I've kept a small chunk of change for the Steam sale if/when it happens. I guess I'm most excited for those indie bundles.

I think that the only thing on my list would be Far Cry 3...

This. I love Steam, but GOG had some crazy great deals I couldn't pass up. That being said, I'm hoping Don't Starve will drop below $10 during the Steam sale and Knights of Pen and Paper +1 goes on sale as well.
