So for my friend, TF2 is pretty much all about getting reflection kills with the pyro, and we discovered something.
He was convinced you couldn't reflect arrows, I assumed he was right until I had mine reflected once, then I reflected some myself.
So we went into our server to try it and we could not do it for the life of us. We went into another server and it was easy as pie. Also we could knock back eachother's flares where we thought it impossible before.
Any reason why this would be impossible in once place and not the other?
Also, pyro rocket jumping. This isn't me or my friend, just some video another friend send him, but I did learn how to do said jump shortly afterward.
Team Fortress 2
Game » consists of 12 releases. Released Oct 10, 2007
The long-awaited sequel to the class-based first-person shooter Team Fortress Classic sports a unique cartoony visual style, more accessible gameplay, and a very large amount of updates and new features since its original release.
Any pyro airblasters out there?
No, it does not. Anyone with a basic understanding of the game can do extremely well.
Case in point: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ndZoP4yctqA
That guy has a total of 33 hours of pyro.
Let's stop with the "You need more skill to play this blah blah", it just makes everyone look bad. Everyone's got skills but sometimes in different areas. For instance I can't for the life of me play Scout, I miss nearly all my shots before I'm always moving around not waiting to shoot. On the other hand I'm not a bad Demoman which requires planning and being able to set up traps.
2 vastly different skills yet you can't just put a number on them or something and judge to see what class needs more skill over another.
Someone could say "you need more skill to play Scout!". What happens if that guy can play Scout but not Demo. How is that possible? He has more skill! Stop talking about skill as if you could hold a certain amount in your hand.
Ps. Disregard all that I'm rambling.
That's me!
I think the BackBurner is usually more useful, but the airblast is way too much fun to use. Deflecting rockets, bombs, and jars of piss never gets old. In addition, I love airblasting people off cliffs and juggling them in the air.
I'm not one for t he BackBurner, considering that the Flame Thrower is already extremely powerful and doesn't need the extra crits. The airblast is so useful, I'd trade crits for it any day.
Apprently a scout can jump of those arrows aswell though, I've never tried.
I'd also like to add I don't rate that player in that video at all, he says he had 33hours, I could make me look pro with that much game time.
33 hours is not a trivial matter, combine that with time spent as other classes and you have a winning combination.
Well, many of the regulars on the server I play on that play pyro always use the regular, airblaster flamethrower. It's just more useful overall with the getting people off points, juggling ubers, and reflecting stuff. I don't play pyro much myself, but I can say that I find an airblasting pyro 10x more annoying than a backburner.
