Does anyone else find that it detracts from the game? I cured it fairly quickly, but the quest I had to entail to cure it was not an enjoyable one....

It was fun for a while. But eventually I got sick of lurking in the night all of the time.

well, imho, the benefits(enhanced speed, strength, and especially the spells, GREATLY outweighed the benefits.
Just dont let yourself become fully vampiric, where people will start avoiding you.

You can play the whole game a vampire, it's no big deal. The quest to remove it is tedious and awfully annoying, though. So watch out for it if you don't really want it.

the only problem is the cure glitch that you can run into which is a serious pain

I'd like to see Vampirism become a more viable gameplay option in the inevitable sequel.

Being a vampire sucked.. took me forever to get rid of it..
